So I'm trying to stretch my Brotherhood up to 1500 points and have a general idea of what I wanna do

HQ
Chapter master: drop pod
Primarchs wrath and teeth of terra
5 man command squad
Company champion with Standard of the emperor
2 meltas 2 gravs melta bombs

Troops

2x 10 man tac squads w/rhinos (1 combat squaded w melta, Grav cannon, and combi melta, the other is a 10 man with flamer combi flamer)
2x 5 scout snipers with camp cloacks

Elites

5 sternguard drop pod with beacon with 5 combi meltas
Venerable dreadnought drop pod death wind launcher with multi-melta and power fist w/ heavy flamer

Fast attack

3man biker squad w meltas(?)

Heavy

Predator w/ las cannons

The plan is for the heavy hitters drop pod into their backfield next to HVTs will the scouts infiltrate into objs, the rhinos drop off combat squads on objs and take midfield, and the predator punishes armor from my backfield.

Is that HQ squad too overboard? It's a boatload of points, but I want it to be the #1 killer, deadly to tanks and any heavy infantry foolish enough to step up to it. Since I can only drop two my first turn I'll save them for the second turn, and use the beacon to drop them by the sternguard if a hefty target is close to them. And since the dread and sternguard are drop podding too, I don't think it'll be able to be singled out. Especially with the rhinos and bikes pushing up.

But I don't know exactly what I wanna with my bikes; put meltas on em and flank the enemy or use em for objective scoring. What do you guys think? Any suggestions to make it more competitive? Any help appreciated

I'd probably take grav-guns on the bikes. Much as I don't like the fact, the go-go-gadget graviton weapon is better in most situations when it's on a relentless platform, and you have no shortage of antitank elsewhere in the list.

The command squad is scary but....confused. If you plan on engaging tanks, Primarch's Wrath is wasted points. If shooting at heavy infantry, then if anyone survives, you'd wish you had an AP2 weapon, not Teeth Of Terra. If planning on being able to charge, stick with meltaguns as they have assault, not salvo.

Nice try. Though a general advise is do not mix weapons. You don't have split fire so different special/heavy weapon in the same squad will be a turn to turn waste..... The only exception is plasma gun, combi plasma and Grav cannon in a 10men Tac squad.

The command squad may be scary, but it is better to take all melta, and put the grav guns on your bikers. The salvo type weapons is best used on the relentless platforms.

If you are using a CM, I think there is two good configuration, one is "smashbane" that is bike, artificer armor, shield eternal and TH, second one maybe arming the Teeth of Terra, PF and Artificer armor or Terminator armor, the PF ToT combo potentially gives you 9 S6 AP3 I5 attacks on the charge that may slaughter a whole small to medium sized unit of MEQ all on his own . Terminator armor is recommanded if you are riding a droppod, which let you fire your Orbital bombardment on the turn he come in, while points wise it is no different from artificer armor since the PF upgrade for Terminator armor model is only 15pts iirc.

BTW, command squad is usually not a good close combat fighter. I propose using apothecary instead of champion and standard. And give a few Stormshield to them, let them look out sir if there is AP 2 fire coming in, for AP3 or worse AP, tank it with the CM.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to put gravs on bikes and keep the units' load outs coherent. After reading my codex all day I think I may have come up with a slight overhaul to make it a little more efficient. Instead of taking the tank HQ squad I'm thinking of putting a librarian lvl 2 with primarchs wrath, relic standard and his force sword, and put him into a rhino tac squad and make him a support psycher with divination skills. (so many rerolls) This gives me enough room to add in a second drop pod dreadnought as well. Lastly, switch the predator with a lad cannon razorback with lascan dev squad. Any thoughts or tips? I appreciate the feedback

The Primarch's Wrath is just more points being thrown into the Librarian. I wouldn't do it. That's mostly reserved for Terminator and Bike Captains and Chapter Masters.
A Tactical Squad is also a horrible retinue. You want something modestly more survivable, or something to make the most of his equipment. Even Assault Marines or Vanguard would make more sense.

All of the above but change Teeth of Terra to Burning Blade for delicious S7 AP2 carnage, plus blind might be good on lumbering opponents to make them even easier to kill
