So how we all doing on this so far?

I'll start by saying get the master weaponsmith from Africa, let's you customise your weapoms.

realizing KB and Mouse is a pain in the ass when the prompts that come up are in play station shapes...

Finished the game after 40 hours.

I didn't actually get the weaponsmith until after I finished the game.

Watch out for cardboard boxes falling from the sky. Happened to me twice while trying to get morale up. And catching old crew was a pain if you don't know how. They'd be twichy as hell.

Up till now i'm loving the game. Wonder when I'll get tanks.

If you had the butterfly emblem from getting the bond with her to the max you could have stopped those missions and she could have been with you till the end of the game.

And tanks are cool, especially as you can kidnap them with their crews onboard. I've never actually requested one for a mission however.

So, I've been told it's basically impossible to understand the story if you're getting in now. If that's true, what's the best way to get into the MGS series? Get a cheap refurbished ps3 from Gamestop and the MGS legacy edition?

I Feel like you may as well watch the "movie" versions of it on youtube.

Unless you want to tread through weeks worth of hours of game.

Also even if you did play the story is still hella complicated

You'd need to play at least 3 and 4. Or watch it at least. 4 it like 7/8 hours of cutscenes. But the story is pretty understandable. It's a bit of a mind**** if you don't know the story from before, but it somewhat gets explained with the true ending. Just need to look for all the tiny details in the cutscenes.

Play everyt single game hundreds of times (no lie) and read up on it online.


Just kidding, you'd want to play 3 and maybe peace walker. Luckily, both of them are in the hd collection. Ground Zeroes is also a good idea too. You don't really need to play four, because it is set 30 years after 5.

I just started playing it this weekend. I beat MGS3 forever ago, and remember that I'm absolutely trash at stealth games.

So far I've been enjoying this more than Ground Zeroes, but I'm still very early on, I don't even have the dog yet.

This game has been a masterpiece thus far.

It's entirely possible. It can be hard to maintain balance, but if you do it's an easy way out.
