The general Idea is that with the ranked attack of the forge guard, the high shield gun corps have safety and can still shoot. The Gunners, as focus efficient they are, only eat up 1 each on average, and the driller doesn't need any unless he's lagging behind or in close combat, and even then, it's more for grundback's spells than any focus on the driller itself.

The game plan is to slow march up, and then use Grundback's pull to try and pop a few things with the forge guard or driller. I wan't to expand this with Hernne and some artillery pieces, possibly an arcanist corps for the smoke to make up for the low DEF on the forge guard. any input and help would be very appreciated.

Not sure where you got those point costs from? Gunners cost 3 each and the Driller 6. The High shields cost 5 pts for 6 man, not 6 pts.
