Is it just me or is the lapse of 40k FAQs (8 months!) a bit worrying. There are alot of questions im sure that are being asked but none answered there has been quite a few codexes suplements ect since January, i dont own them but i would say none of them are Right first time.

am i alown in this feeling?

It is worrisome, but obviously GW doesn't much care. Forge the narrative!

They've completely abdicated responsibility. Agree on a format with your group (ITC, NOVA, ETC) and use those FAQs.

As far as we know now, GW isn't doing FAQs anymore.

Not like I wanted clarification on a few things, but okay.

GW believes you should play the game the way you want. Conflict arises when you want to play one way, and your opponent another way. Before, GW would step in issuing a FAQ or Errata. Now, we have to negotiate with our opponents. If you attend a tournament, then it's up to the Tournament Organizer to supply the FAQ/Errata and even extra rules for the event. Is this a good thing, bad thing, a whatever thing? I dunno. I don't play people that will give me a "Negative Play Experience". I consider very, very carefully and have to place myself in the right state of mind to attend a tournament. I'm far more likely to just walk out of a tournament if I have to play that "One Guy."

Missing FAQs wouldn't be a problem if GW would actually effectively edit their work before they sell it. It is one thing for there to be negotiable rules interpretations and I get that even though it irritates me, but another entirely when books are released with glaring errors or omissions that everyone who bought the book finds the first time through and no one at GW happened to notice at all.

I also make it a point to play people who are smart and want to have fun so we deal with any inconsistencies, decide how we want to play it and do so. Things like the Ravenwing Strike Force HQ error are not just a rules interpretation problem. I deal with it by just sticking with my Deathwing Strike Force and not playing a Ravenwing Strike Force.

Why bother with proper editing or FAQ's when you can release a new edition?

Didn't we just have this discussion?
