Try PLASTRUCT.com
Or a good hobby/model store (trains/planes/tanks/cars, etc - not a games store). They should be able to get the stuff in.

Plastruct is not user friendly and if you don't have access to the old catalog, finding the different sheet styles is nearly impossible. I inherited a copy of the old catalog from my dad and the SKUs from that work every time. You will need to search by description such as "diamond plate" Automatically Appended Next Post: I just dis a search on the Plastruct site for "diamond plate" and got the following:
Search criteria (and):
DescSearch bw diamond plate
Displaying records 1 thru 5 of 5 records found. (5 records displayed).
Click on the CATALOG CODE to view that specific Product, or on COMPLETE to view the entire range of items that Product is related to (i.e. all sizes of a Structural Shape or Tubing, all scales of a City Figure, or all models of a car).

Wow thank you very much! I needed something like that! So let me ask: which one is the best value of them, would you say? I need to cover quite a bit of submarine

Depends on what spacing you want on the treadplate bits.
1:48 will be the closest on that range to a "realistic" plate for 28mm (it's not perfect, but given the ranges they have, it IS as close as you will get).
How long/wide is your sub going to be?

Actually this stuff is fairly perfect for what I have in mind, but I will still answer the question
The sub is 17" long and about 4 1/2 inches tall, so it's fairly sizeable.
