I'm thinking of getting into Infinity, and I like the look of the Aleph faction. Suggestions?  [RSS] Share on facebook Share on Twitter Submit to Reddit

In terms of things I should get as a starting set, and anything I'd need special for assembly and the like. I was also looking through the Infinity Store and saw a few models I liked, but one of them, the Chandra Spec-Ops one, stood out as being special from what I read in a little research session. Miniaturemarket mentioned on her store page that she could only be used as a proxy, from my understanding. To quote their words; "WARNING: Infinity Spec-Ops have no troop profile in the Army Lists, however they are the perfect proxies to be used in Infinity official tournaments of the ITS." I have somewhere between an unbelievably small understanding of what that actually means or none whatsoever.

Anywho, anything you guys would recommend for starting Infinity, and starting as Aleph?

Spec Ops models have three uses.

First, is as a Spec Ops model in the Paradiso campaign system. In this, they grow and learn experience as you play. Doing so grants them new abilities and weapons, depending on how you spend their experience. Think of it like levelling up an RPG character.

Secondly, as an ITS (Infinity Tournament System, the official tournaments of the game) option. A popular ITS type is allowing a Spec Op with 12 exp to each player, letting them customise their loadout for whatever gaps they need to fill in their list.

Third, as a proxy for anything the same size. So an infantry sized model.

Ahhhhhh. Thanks for clearing that up. It was sort of confusing to me. I've only skimmed through the Infinity rulebook on their website.
