So, I'm planning on adding a Librarius Conclave to my Deathwatch, and I'd like to know what you'd advise. Bear in mind that I'd be using IF Chapter Tactics, so Sevrin Loth and Tigurius are out of the running.

What do I equip them with, who can I stick them near, and what to do with them would be nice to know.

I think a very common load out is just to min/max the conclave with 3 ML2 Libbys on bikes.

Most lists put them in a deathstar. Some even go far as Bike/Cavalry/Conclave deathstar with Tiggy hoofing it.

Strategy-wise it depends on your list. Most people on Dakka will be asking "what else do you have on your list?" and they are right. It all depends. What I listed above is the most common I've seen as it is fast and usually protected by a command squad with 4+ FNP or another type of star.

Go for sentinels of terra supplement and use the bones of Ozark relic for 2+ with rerolls to cast

Just be careful, if you put the libbys (from Sentinels) in a squad with IH, you lose the bolter reroll and FNP (6+) :/

Mixing chapter tactics is awful in 7th. :(

Neither of those are great compared to the 2+ reroll casting and all the other craziness the star has

You don't have to have Tigurius on foot, do you? You can put him in a unit that uses a Rhino, and combat speeding the Rhino means you can still Turbo Boost the bikes (once) and keep everyone in 12", if you want, with Tigurius, one Marine in the Rhino, and the Rhino itself still getting Snap Shots, if they want (with Tigurius still giving Blessings and Maledictions as normal). You could even Flat Out the Rhino, and Tigurius would still be able to Bless and Maledict normally.

I only run Space Wolves, though, so I may be missing something.

You could do that until the rhino pops... And if that's your trick then they will focus on doing that

So, the worst case scenario of my suggestion is Tigurius is back to hoofing it, which was the best case scenario in the post to which I was replying.

Well yes and no since he woulnt be attached to the deathstar and he would then be vulnerable alone for more focus fire

I think he's asking what Powers to try for: Biomancy, Pyromancy, Divination, etc...

Fair point, but the OP didn't bring up deathstars - merely potential strategies for Conclaves. And I'm not solid on my strategies for non-Space Wolf armies, so it was as much me trying to figure out if I understood things correctly as a suggestion...

As far as Powers, well, Invisibility never hurts, no matter what you're running. And if you're running 3 ML2 Psykers, you can be fairly certain you'll get it, if you really want it. But, as saythings pointed out, it depends on what you want to run and how you want to run it.

OP here to clarify a few things:

I won't be using Sentinels of Terra, so the Ozark relic is out of the question, apologies.

For extra advice on my list, it's a Reclusiam Command Squad, Captain, Scouts in a LSS, Venerable Dreadnought, Sternguard in Stormraven, Vanguard and Terminators. No bikers, Centurions or anything like that.

I don't mind any hints on powers, but I'm more concerned with how to get them from A to B and how to use them on field. Attach one to each of my Veteran Squads?

Seeing as I've never used this before, do the Librariams all need to be attached in the same unit?

To the last part, no. They're all Independent Characters, and they all retain their IC status. You can split them into as many units as you have Librarians, put them all in one unit, or do any combination you want, using standard IC rules.

Oh, that's really helped then. I'm thinking of adding a Libby to the Sternguard, Vanguard and Termies, with appropriate armour (ie. Libby with Terminator armour in the Terminator Squad and a jump pack for the Libby on the Vanguard Squad?)

They can be in different units, however, all libbies have to be within 12" of the chap you wish to do the casting to get the benefits. So it may be easier to have them in the same unit.

You cannot cast blessings or maledictions out of vehicles, only witch fire powers out of a firing point.

My current conclave is with a Draigo Cent star, and it is Tigurius, Libby L2 with auspex, and Libby level 2. 350 points. They have swords, since they both look cool (especially the Ultramarines upgrade sprue ones that I have like 6 of) and are relic blades when Draigo casts hammerhand. And since there are few things I want to CC with...

I probably should have gone staves, though, just for some anti vehicle goodness. But the UM swords..!

Ah, weapons! Would swords be best, or should I go with axes or mauls. I'd like the idea of an axe on the Termie Librarian, as he could feasibly last longer in his armour with a storm shield.

Huh! The manifestation in a Transport rule makes absolutely no sense, but it's accurate. Thanks for the heads-up, and sorry for the misinformation.

The Burble

They are the most effective summoners in the game. Once I get invisibility and endurance if I have any spells left I dump a roll into malefic. Sacrifice is great, otherwise I trade it for the primaris. Helps with board control if you run bikers.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

Been considering this myself. Combi weapon and termie armor?

Seems like mixing axes and mauls is the way to go, much like Chaos termies- kept in a single unit, it' one success to activate all force weapons, just like Grey Knights.

Raven Guard CT aren't great army-wide but they're an option if you're running a Jump Conclave outside a SM list. Aside from Deep Striking they can confer Shrouded to the unit they're assigned to on turn 1, and the ability to jump twice and reroll HoW is decent.

No T5 is the obvious tradeoff, but that's irrelevant if your unit is majority toughness T3 or T4 anyway.

Eye of Terror

I run Tigerius with two level 2 Librarians and they all join the DraigoStar. I take force axes for the +1S and AP2. Draigo rolls a lot of attacks at I5 so it works well. AP2 is really good versus wolfstars with attached characters.
