Been trying to find a way to do this for a while, but it seems that unlike with the gamecube/gameboy, there's no legitimate way to play my 3ds games on a screen bigger than my 3ds XL-- I looked up the capturecard, but it doesn't 'work with the XL model.

Does the Wii U offer anything along these lines?

Not that I know of.

You'd think they would, I mean, they could make a good chunk of change selling such an adaptor...

I had a set of cables that allowed me to connect my original ds and ds lite to a TV

http://www.screencapturenews.com/2009/07/07/capturing-video-from-nintendo-ds/

it was a 3rd arty company and had to order them from Taiwan. They also made some for PSP. They worked but the rubber sheath they used for the cable was rather cheap.

would they work on a new 3ds xl?

I don't have one so I could not say if they could use the same cables.

I think it would, but it would remove the infra-red functionality of the 3DS XL.

There currently is only one type of capture card available for the 3DSXL and on top of it being very pricey, it most often is not sold seperately but requires someone else to get it in for you. You're looking at a minimum of ~400$, not including any shipping or additional cost. The standard option removes the IR port, but you can alternatively preserve the IR port at the cost of the power port (but...why?) or, alternatively, preserve both but can then no longer use a Circlepad Pro.

So all in all...I highly doubt that it's worth it.

Yeah, I think not.

Well, here's hoping they add the functionality to the Wii U, then.
