At my desk

I have a squad of five, and I know I'm mostly going to face Chaos Marines and Necrons, so what would you recommend?

I'm thinking two power weapons and bolt pistols all around. Maybe some Hand-Flamers or a Power Fist if I have points.

Also any suggestions for characters like a Chaplain or something to role with them?

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Had never used Blood Angles nor faced them yet. But I think one or two power sword when fighting CSM or Power Maul if you know your facing Necron Warrior blob. While one of the other guy packing Power Fist is never bad. Just remember to put the bolt gun on the PF guys since it grant another shot before charging, while bolt pistol should be paired with regular power weapons to get one more attack. Furthermore, I don't know wether the DC can take dual Lightning Claw or not, bur I think if you can, a five men DC squad backed by a Chaplain could slaughter a.ten men regular CSM squad with ease.

Probably a sword and a fist, anything else more and it is just points spent hitting dead chaos marines bodies

A Chaplain or Librarian is nice, but anything super fighty again is just a waste, they'll be spending time hitting dead guys

Also you have jumppacks right, right?

The thing about death co is that they already do a great job killing MEQs. 5 str5 (and possibly init5) attacks on the charge per model will simply drown your opponent in saves. 1 power fist per 5 dudes is optimal, as the fist lets you charge things you wouldnt normally stand much of a chance against. Try this.

-5x Death Company
Jump packs
Power fist
140 points

Cheap, cheerful, and gets the job done. Can beat the crap out of light or medium armor and bully small or weak scoring units.

-10x Death Company
Jump packs
2x Power Fist
280 points

This is a unit you can throw at practically anything in the game, particularly with a libby, chaplain or Astorath attached.
