So I found out last night, a venue near me was running Q2 again. Now the venue is about an hour away and $8 in tolls, but last month was a bit of a dry spell for gaming, so I decided to make up for it.
On my last Q2 I was happy with how my Defiant did, so I wanted to build on that. This is what I came up with.
24 USS Defiant
04 Ben Sisko
05 Indy Fleet Captain (crew*)
00 Attack Pattern Omega
02 Type 8 Phasers
02 Systems Upgrade
05 Multi Adaptive Shields
02 Riker* (Hood)
03 Paris
03 Omit’Igan
26 USS Hood
06 Khan* (no faction penalty for upgrades)
02 Admiral Shanthi (+1)
05 Cheat Death
01 Lojur*
01 Li Nalis**
02 Beverly Crusher*
05 Disruptor Beams*
02 Power Gird*
20 Federation Fighters
First round was against a Dominion list. From what I remember:
Battle Cruiser
Weyoun 8
Battle Cruiser
Gul Dukat
Battleship
Luaren
Phontons
Volley of Torpedoes
Set up
Turn 1
I had a momentary memory lapse and forgot that fighters only have a 3 instead of a 4 straight. So Khan had a momentary crash. Good thing everything was out range for real combat so I just grabbed two tokens for the moon.
Turn 2
This turn I remembered how to fly, so no one crashed. Khan strips the shields off of Weyoun’s ship and Sisko deals him 2 damge. My opponent is shocked when the Defiant shakes off everything from the 2 Battle Cruisers with it’s 6 defense dice

. Both my fighters and the Battle ship grab a token.
Turn 3
This turn Dukat forgot how to fly and crashed into the fighters. Weyoun uses his mission tokens to Sisko.
Khan fishishes off Weyoun. Sisko takes some shields off off the Battleship. Dukat whiffs and only takes a shield off of the fighters. Luaran fires off torpedoes at Sisko and nothing gets through. He fires off the Volley of Torpedoes at the fighters and takes off a token. My fighters take some shields off Dukat.
Turn 4
Khan pulls a wicked move by doing a hard 2 turn and using the Power Grid to get rid of the Aux leaving him in a great position

.
Khan and Sisko gang up on the Battleship and take it out. Dukat picks off a token from the fighters. The fighters take out the last of Dukat’s shields.
Turn 5
Looks like everyone is in a good positon

.
Khan does 2 or 3 damage, but Sisko finishes Dukat off, fitting don’t you think.
Victory, 120 for destroyed ships, 15 for moon tokens, 20 for winning with more tokens, 155 total.
Round 2 was against a mix bag fleet.
Soong
Picard
Bioship Beta
Beta Pilot
Energy Weapon
Biological Technology
B’Rel (think he left his fighters at home)
Set up
Turn 1
My ships move up and collect tokens. The Bioship and Br’
el move up slow. The Soong moves off around the planet to shake off Q.
Turn 2
Khan does 2 damage to the B’Rel through the cloak. Sisko takes some shields off of the Bioship. The Bioship uses Energy Blast and Biological Tech to throw 10 dice at Sisko. Between his rolling and my defense the Defiant lost 2 shields. The fighters grab another token. The B’Rel had a Stunned Helmsman.
Turn 3
I get behind him and the Soong continued to get rid of Q. Khan and Sisko talke the Bio ship down to one hull. The fighters grab a token as doe the B’Rel and Bioship.
Turn 4
The Bioship tries to escape and regenerate. Khan backs up keeping the enemy in arc.
Khan finishes off the B’Rel and Sisko takes out the Bioship.
Turn 5
The Soong has finally gotten rid of Q. Khan and Sisko chewed through some shields. The Soong shot the Defiant, I had a bad roll and lost a few shields.
Turn 6
Sisko bumps the planet and can’t finish his come about

. Khan finishes off the shields and deals two damage to the Soong. Picard fires back and strips Khans shields and does 2 damage. Sisko and the Fighters grab my last two moon tokens.
Turn 7
My opponent did not expect me to end so close.
Khan shoots Picard in the back

and game over.
Victory! 120 + 60 +20 = 200
Round 3
Bye = 60 fleet points.
So with 415 points I secured a win and another Korinar. I was then really surprised when they gave me a pack of Q cards too

. Apparently they bought 2 of each kit and were giving a Q set to the winner of each of the replay events.
The Khan Hood was a lot of fun to play. Using Disruptor Beams 4 turns in a row with
BS was hilarious. The 50 point Defiant is starting to become one of my favorite ships to play. It doesn’t deal a lot of damage, but it is a tough little ship. I may have to play this list again with a few tweaks. Sorry for the little white rectangles in the pics, it’s the reflection from the lights in the store.
