So I found out last night, a venue near me was running Q2 again. Now the venue is about an hour away and $8 in tolls, but last month was a bit of a dry spell for gaming, so I decided to make up for it.

On my last Q2 I was happy with how my Defiant did, so I wanted to build on that. This is what I came up with.

24 USS Defiant
04 Ben Sisko
05 Indy Fleet Captain (crew*)
00 Attack Pattern Omega
02 Type 8 Phasers
02 Systems Upgrade
05 Multi Adaptive Shields
02 Riker* (Hood)
03 Paris
03 Omit’Igan

26 USS Hood
06 Khan* (no faction penalty for upgrades)
02 Admiral Shanthi (+1)
05 Cheat Death
01 Lojur*
01 Li Nalis**
02 Beverly Crusher*
05 Disruptor Beams*
02 Power Gird*

20 Federation Fighters

First round was against a Dominion list. From what I remember:

Battle Cruiser
Weyoun 8

Battle Cruiser
Gul Dukat

Battleship
Luaren
Phontons
Volley of Torpedoes

Set up

Turn 1
I had a momentary memory lapse and forgot that fighters only have a 3 instead of a 4 straight. So Khan had a momentary crash. Good thing everything was out range for real combat so I just grabbed two tokens for the moon.

Turn 2
This turn I remembered how to fly, so no one crashed. Khan strips the shields off of Weyoun’s ship and Sisko deals him 2 damge. My opponent is shocked when the Defiant shakes off everything from the 2 Battle Cruisers with it’s 6 defense dice . Both my fighters and the Battle ship grab a token.

Turn 3
This turn Dukat forgot how to fly and crashed into the fighters. Weyoun uses his mission tokens to Sisko.

Khan fishishes off Weyoun. Sisko takes some shields off off the Battleship. Dukat whiffs and only takes a shield off of the fighters. Luaran fires off torpedoes at Sisko and nothing gets through. He fires off the Volley of Torpedoes at the fighters and takes off a token. My fighters take some shields off Dukat.

Turn 4
Khan pulls a wicked move by doing a hard 2 turn and using the Power Grid to get rid of the Aux leaving him in a great position .

Khan and Sisko gang up on the Battleship and take it out. Dukat picks off a token from the fighters. The fighters take out the last of Dukat’s shields.

Turn 5
Looks like everyone is in a good positon .

Khan does 2 or 3 damage, but Sisko finishes Dukat off, fitting don’t you think.

Victory, 120 for destroyed ships, 15 for moon tokens, 20 for winning with more tokens, 155 total.

Round 2 was against a mix bag fleet.

Soong
Picard

Bioship Beta
Beta Pilot
Energy Weapon
Biological Technology

B’Rel (think he left his fighters at home)

Set up

Turn 1
My ships move up and collect tokens. The Bioship and Br’el move up slow. The Soong moves off around the planet to shake off Q.

Turn 2
Khan does 2 damage to the B’Rel through the cloak. Sisko takes some shields off of the Bioship. The Bioship uses Energy Blast and Biological Tech to throw 10 dice at Sisko. Between his rolling and my defense the Defiant lost 2 shields. The fighters grab another token. The B’Rel had a Stunned Helmsman.

Turn 3
I get behind him and the Soong continued to get rid of Q. Khan and Sisko talke the Bio ship down to one hull. The fighters grab a token as doe the B’Rel and Bioship.

Turn 4

The Bioship tries to escape and regenerate. Khan backs up keeping the enemy in arc.

Khan finishes off the B’Rel and Sisko takes out the Bioship.

Turn 5
The Soong has finally gotten rid of Q. Khan and Sisko chewed through some shields. The Soong shot the Defiant, I had a bad roll and lost a few shields.

Turn 6
Sisko bumps the planet and can’t finish his come about . Khan finishes off the shields and deals two damage to the Soong. Picard fires back and strips Khans shields and does 2 damage. Sisko and the Fighters grab my last two moon tokens.

Turn 7
My opponent did not expect me to end so close.

Khan shoots Picard in the back and game over.

Victory! 120 + 60 +20 = 200

Round 3
Bye = 60 fleet points.

So with 415 points I secured a win and another Korinar. I was then really surprised when they gave me a pack of Q cards too . Apparently they bought 2 of each kit and were giving a Q set to the winner of each of the replay events.

The Khan Hood was a lot of fun to play. Using Disruptor Beams 4 turns in a row with BS was hilarious. The 50 point Defiant is starting to become one of my favorite ships to play. It doesn’t deal a lot of damage, but it is a tough little ship. I may have to play this list again with a few tweaks. Sorry for the little white rectangles in the pics, it’s the reflection from the lights in the store.

WOW your opponents couldn't even destroy a single ship...holy smacks. Good job, I would focused on KHAN and the fighters personally, being easier targets to eliminate.

After the first pass on the Defiant the Dominion guy tried for the fighters, I think he got them down to one token. He was also using the battle ship mostly to get moon tokens. But in his defense he admitted that he has been out of the game since April.

With the mixed fleet, he seemed worried about cheat death on khan. I also think he didn't anticipate it taking soo long to get rid of Q.

I got lucky with some amazing rolls though. I was just happy to use two of my favorite captains and not have it blow up in my face as sometimes happens

I like the strategy: using one ship as kind of a shield or agro- drawing their fire off your less dodgy ships. Solid build concept.

I like that you used the defiant too. Love that ship from the moment I saw it (The Invasion of sector 001, First Contact).

I love that upgrades are available to make the Defiant playable. Once I get my hands on a Lakota I am giving it that phaser upgrade for a 5 attack ship . It is my favorite Fed ship but before the Hood came out it was undergunned and needed Picard to make it work. The Sisko belongs on his ship

I used Sisko aboard one of my akiras in a Sisko-Picard (9)-Spock Akira-class strike force... Only upgrade was dorsal phaser array, and it was so much fun. his extra die cam in handy a few times. I really like him as a captain honestly.

I find Sikso comes in handy more than Spock most times. I run into cloaking fleets often and the TL from Spock doesn't do much there. A free scan is OK, especially if you combine with Valtane or T'Pol, but they take up crew slots I would rather use for other folks. To me Sisko is always going to be useful. Yeah it's only one reroll, but it's every turn and any die, attack, defense, even a warp core.

Hi,

thanks to your Reports Mr. Baldrick.

I will Play Q2 this Sunday. I think to Play follow list (Romulans):

- Scimitar (38)
- Salatrel (3)
- Adm. Mendak (4)
- Disruptor Beams (5)

- Reman Warbird (36)
- Donatra (4)
- Tactical Officer (3)
- Adv. Cloaking (4)

- Fed Attack Fighters (20)
- Coordinated Attack (3)

120 Points

Q will go to the Scimitar. So I want to shoot with the Disruptor Beams and +1 from Donatra and BS from Mendak.
I'm still not satisfied with the Fed. Attack Fighters. I will cancel the Coordinated Attack but I don´t know, what I can give the Reman Warbird for that Points?

We will Play Ship Faction Pure. Ships from different Factions in one Fleet, but only Upgrades from the same Faction like the Ship.

Thank you.

Best Regards from Germany :-)

Daniel, welcome to out little trek corner on dakka,

I like your list, looks mean

The distruptor beams will make up for Q and Mendak handing out BS is never a bad thing. I would stick with the Coordintated Attack on the Fighters. BS on fighters is great, it is great if you run into other cloakers.

The Tac Officer might not be doing much on the Reman Warbird after the first round of shooting. You will need to use that ships action for Mendak. The Scimitar's action will be take up to enable the Disruptor Beams afters the first turn. So if there was something you wanted to add to the WB you could drop the Tac officer.

I STRONGLY recommend swapping out that Tac officer for a Romulan Helmsman... Its a great card and turning a Red come-about maneuver into a white maneuver is a HUGE deal, especially on a Reman.

Hi,

thanks to you Mr. Baldrick and Corpsman :-)

I will change the Tac Officer.

What do you think:

-Elite Talent: Massacre or Rom Helsman?

I know I should play what I like :-)

Greetings

Corpsman has a very good point on the Helmsman. Being able to come about and TL is great on just about anything, but especially on a 6 die Reman Warbird

I do like Massacre, it is my go to Romulan Talent. It is cheap and I love the ability to look at someone and say "oh you have one hull left, well because I got that crit here is 1 more damage and your dead". It comes in handy more often than you would think. Personally I find it to be the best card in the Vo pack.

If it came down between the two I would take the Helmsman, because he can be reused. Same goes for Coordinated Attack. If you have 3pts and no other slots available, go with Massacre, but don't cut out an otherwise vital part for it

... and hey folks lets see some pics of these battles
