Hey everyone. I've decided to start a Chaos Dwarf army without spending a ton of money on FW. I get a pretty steep discount from GW so I'm going to be staying with their products. My green stuff skills are lacking outside the realm of blood and gore so the less of that I do the better. Here we go.

Drazhoath the Ashen:

I was thinking of putting Belegar Ironhammer on a Varghulf or a jabberslythe. Although a winged Stonehorn would make for an amazing conversion...

Infernal Guard:

Longbeards and Irondrakes are probably the closest I'm going to get. I could give them the Chaos Warrior heads with the horns cut off. Give em some spiky bits.

K'Daai Fireborn:

I'm at a loss for these guys.

War Machines:

Hellcannon of course. I'd use a combination of Empire and Dwarf artillery with Dwarf crew. But the Chaos Dwarf machines are much larger. Maybe stick one on a Chaos Warshrine? Maybe find some extra carriages from the Skaven warmachines and bash the two together. The Ogre Ironblaster with Dwarf crew would look good. I kind of want to use a Thomas the Tank Engine model for the Iron Daemon War Machine...

Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas/success stories of your own!

For k'daai, you could use minotaurs and paint them as if they are molten metal, it's in keeping with the bull aesthetic.

Reg Drazhoath, why not use the citadel Taurus?

Good luck with the project!

Good call on the Minotaurs. Painting them as fire-beings matches my overall theme as well.

I'm not big on the Taurus model. I'd like something a little more sinister looking.

I'd probably go with the jabberslythe then. Might be worth looking at the maulerfiend as well if you want sinister and are a confident converter, wings could go in the weapon mount and the top would easily accommodate a mount.
