Subject: Bombshell Babes 2 - Female Miniatures Kickstarter (Patrick Keith & Chad Hoverter)
We bring you a whole new set of fantastic female character models suitable for use with all manner of tabletop Wargames and RPGs!
Although we're using a term like "Babes" to describe the line, these characters are much more than a label. The concept is something retro and nostalgic that is intended to evoke images of famous paintings like J. Howard Miller's "We Can Do It" and Rockwell's "Rosie the Riveter".
Why return to Kickstarter? We have all of the models shown ready to go into production, but molding and mastering, and casting runs are expensive. It would take longer for us to raise the funds to put these models into production over time than if we ask for funds to make a collection of them at one time. We want to get these models out to you as soon as possible, and Kickstarter can make that possible.
THE BABES™
We have a fantastic list of classic character archetypes as well as new characters from many popular genres including Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Steampunk, Weird War, Pulp and more for the core set as well as numerous stretch goals. Care is taken to size the figures so they are compatible with other models from the most popular manufacturers within the 30mm range of heroic sizes. Babes™ are cast in the finest lead-free pewter to assure as much of the detail of the original sculpt is preserved. All models are supplied unpainted and some assembly may be required.
all minis are also purchasable as add ons if you don't want them all
Patrick & the folks at Bombshell have run a number of successful (and on time) KS projects so if you like the look of the minis back with confidence, I know I am

So far I only like Maelee and Melody, the space cadet. The others are.. ehhhh. At least they didn't include their mediocre take on Furiosa from Fury Road.

I backed the first one and believe it was run very well. I do not think there were any major delays, definitely not to the scale of Raging Heroes, or Secret Weapon Miniature's tablescape disaster.

Adelaide and Eloise are perfect replacements for the abominable figures that came with Shadows of Brimstone for the Gunslinger / Outlaw and Saloon Girl.
I've backed both Counterblast kickstarters, will probably end up backing this one as well. Melody will fit right into my GDF squad, Maelee into my Lancers. Really only the fantasy stuff I don't have an immediate use for, but given how much D&D I play I'm sure I can find a use.

The first one went pretty well. I think there were minor delays, but nothing ridiculous. Aside from one or two isolated flaws (who decided to run a mold line across a character's eye?!?), the figures I received were of very nice quality. I haven't purchased any more, however, because not all of their sculpts/sculptors are up to the same standard.
Not sure if I'll back this one or not. It seems a lot smaller, and a lot less flexible, rewards-wise.

the first one only had a small number of minis to start with, it just grew with the stretches (Edit: but to be fair we did get to see more concept art upfront)

I like the western stuff for replacing Brimstone figures as well. At least with metals I'll actually paint them (at some point in time...) whereas board game pieces I tend to leave as is.
Want to see more of what they'll be offering as stretches, as that's what will keep me in.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
but at the moment buying all of the minis as add-ons except the 'relic' (basically a figure Patrick sculpted at the beginning of his career) Meagan costs the same as the bomb kit pledge
so if you went in that direction you could swap out adlaid for a stretch goal mini when one unlocks
(and if the bomb kit gets a bunch of extra stuff added just get that and swap/sell/give away the stuff you don't like)

Yeah, I do hope more minis get unlocked that are more interesting and that we can swap them, that's what I liked about the first one, you bought your pledge, which came with Maelee and several empty slots you could fill as you saw fit.

$50 will net you the Bomb Kit which will start with 6 core Babes plus we will drop SELECT freebies into it as they are unlocked.
Everything at launch will be offered a la carte as well, meaning you can pledge at the first tier and pick and choose whatever you like.
Stretch goals will be for both freebie unlocks and also add-on item unlocks that will require additional pledge amounts.
Remember, your pledge total amount is fluid and will allow you to add items on in the pledge manager afterwards. So if you donate $100, you can literally pick anything out of the whole catalog up to $100.
Adding funds later in the pledge manager does not unlock stretch goals though.
=====
Non-human Babes in the stretchgoal lineup:
Jungle elf on Raptor
Orc
Dwarf priestess
Dwarf tankard brawler
Catfolk hunter
Plus more as we can get to them . . .
so you will indeed be able to pick and choose, including from their back catalogue (no word on whether the prices for the catalogue stuff will stand or if they will drop to $8 for a standard 'babe')

In their other campaigns they usually just send you a gift certificate code for whatever amount you pledged, and then you just go to their online store and buy whatever you want with it. Easy

@Alex Wreschnig - That's not what were saying. If you pledge $100 and select the Bomb Kit level you will get everything in the Bomb Kit, plus $50 worth ofwhatever else you want from the Add-Ons. The 6 Babes in the "core set" come in the Bomb Kit and cannot be swapped for other minis. It is a set, For backers that want to cherry pick what mini they want should choose the Fuse Level if they want something different than what is offered in the Bomb Kit.

I hope for backers' sake they ship a little more nicely this time. In the first one I got all my models shoved into a padded baggie which doesn't offer much protection, and what's more the models shoved in there gouged the gak out my postcards. For all of the criticism of RH and delays, they certainly know how to pad and ship properly.
Backed the first one and it ran fairly smooth. Was kept well informed and Keith does the castings at the Reaper foundry with friends on the weekend and off-hours. Not jumping on this one since I still never painted the last ones and the Battle Chasers kickstarter is eating up all my money right now.
