Hi guys,

I just got my order with the latest codices for my armies. I always accepted the new codices being expensive since I like hardcover books in the shelf. And they all (IK, Harlequins, Necrons) are hardcover books, but not the Eldar Craftworlds codex. Is this normal? WTF did they think? Now all the Codices are hardcover except one. This majorly messes with my OCD

Seriously, though, did GW tell any reason (not like they ever do...)?

My armies:
Eldar
Necron
Chaos Space Marines
Grey Knights
Imperial Knights
Death Guard

My copy of Craftworlds is definitely hardback.

Does it look like this?:

GW does do some softback books, but they're mostly Suppliments and the Astra Militaritiusiumumunum Codex.

I think the hardbacks are for the first print run only (at least, that's how it was for WFB Army books and the End Times books).

****, this is so annoying, the merchant just confirmed that it seems that they switch to paperback... He ordered it with the same product code as the hardback one and got the paperback. Dammit. I frakking hate GW :(

Did you order it direct from games workshop? They still have it advertised as a hardback on their site.

From GW's perspective, why are you even buying it? If you were a real GW fan you should have bought it in the first week to make sure you got your Limited run Hard cover version!

From real life, the soft covers are meant to be £25 instead of £30.
If you got the Softcover and paid £30, you have been cheated out of £5

I don't mind the price, I just want the hardcover. And why am I buying it? Since even the dealer I ordered it was surprised since he got only hardcover codices from exactly the same order code before... nobody expected this.

Anyway, I'm already trying to get one of the remaining hardcover codices. Stupid frakk, though.

GW's site lists the Eldar Codex for £35, and this:
"This 160-page, full-colour hardback book"
If you paid the price, you should get the product. If not, check with your local equivalent of the Trading Standards department.

As for non-hardcovers:
IG/AM's softcover is £25, and:
"...this 104 page, full colour softback"
The small format version is the same price.
