Hi guys, I've several KDK models ready to be primed and basecoated in Khorne red. There are two vallejo surface primers available in the market, Vallejo Grey Surface Primer & Vallejo Pure Red Surface Primer

I generally paint my miniatures by starting out with a grey primer followed by the basecoat. Vallejo's pure red surface primer is something new to me. Has anyone had success painting Khorne/red-themed armies starting out with the pure red primer?

Not used the Vallejo one, but I've used the Army Painter Dragon Red spray paint for priming Khorne stuff straight to a red base coat and it worked just fine. That particular stuff needed some care to avoid leaving too thick a coat and clogging detail, but Vallejo primers generally seem pretty good.
