So I have an idea to run a Tzeentch marked CSM list with allied Orks (from Ghazghkull Supplement) Ork Big Mek in a big bloc of Ork bikers with the Mega Force Field.

I'm thinking of the best way to combine the 4++ from the field with Tzeentch +1 to invuln.

The idea is still running through my head I'm trying to figure out troops/tactics to go with this.

Something like tzeentch marked hellbrutes, or fiends, or terminators staying near the big mek to get 3++.

Any ideas or experience with this?

Looking for possible list ideas or tactics ideas.

That's a cool unusual idea. Too bad KFF and MFF are only 6" and cost a lot. + Orks themselves are not particularly very durable even with 4++ and 3+ cover. Sad but it won't work out too good with troops. Force field works better with vehicles. A Landraider, a bunch of helbrutes (probably formation ones), some expensive forgeworld stuff.

What about....if I screened the bikers with mek at the front by 3 tzeentch maulerfiends? they could all move up together 12", the fiends would have 3++ and the mek should be LOS blocked?

there are no marked maulerfiends. But the tactix could work nevertheless. Oh, and might be useful for spawns if you get them in range.

You can't give mark of tzeentch to any of the vehicles or walkers

Ah I thought for some reason I could, I'm at work and don't have the book infront of me.

Spawn seem like a good choice though.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
4++ on the maulerfiends wouldn't be so bad either though, and nice that they and the mek on bike move 12"

Thing is, you can do the same thing about equally reliably by allying in a few daemon psykers and rolling for Cursed Earth. Also grants you a much bigger area of +1 invuln bubble.

Although you do have a point with the Spawn. A bunch of relatively cheap T6 wounds with a 4++ charging up field could be suitably nasty.

I lean towards a helbrute formation with 5 brutes backed up by mek with a Big Bosspole and MFF + warbikers. Helbrutes benefit from a force field more than maulerfiends. This way you get a more reliable source of durability buff for brutes. 6" range is a bummer, though, but i think you could easilly cover 3 front brutes without hindering your positioning too much. From my experience, 5 brutes with durability buff are unexpectedly good.

Landraider might be fine too but i feel it's still not too great even with 4++. It can still get stunned, immobilized or exploded and your expensive cargo is stuck.
