I went to go order a Ogre Mega Army from their website today and it was on pre order. I then clicked on a couple other ogre things and they were also on pre order. Are they out of stock of a lot of things or is there an ogre re release I'm not aware of.

You got it, theyre releasing new army sets. No idea if the old ones will come back at some point though.

The new ones have mostly been the same miniature contents, for the same price, in a new box, with the mega armies getting a copy of the soft cover rules to replace the old 1E booklet. I think only Abysssal Dwarves have had a fundamental change to what was in the boxes, and I'd stake on Undead losing all their unique super boxes like the Bloodmire Legion.

So yeah, I'd expect the Ogre boxes to be back in stock soon, and identical, though maybe a new Warlock and/or some Berserker Braves added to the mega army to replace the now superfluous command components set.

The new 2 player starter box (Undead vs Dwarfs) packs more Undead, and fewer Dwarf models than Orcs in the previous box set, but I think the Dwarfs are worth more points than the Orc and Goblins were.

I know because I recently agonized over getting the 2nd ed box for the extra copy of the 2.0 rulebook and dwarfs I wouldn't use, or the 1.0 box with outdated rulebook and Orcs and goblins I would use.
