Silly to assume that'd happen completely instead of mildly, but even assuming it did: The imperium had plenty of time to re-diversify with countless isolated planetary populations in countless climates.

Plenty of diversity, even if the IoM was one of the same before leaving Terra. Living on a completely different planet will change its population.
