Mostly in the title here. I want to start a fluffy Word Bearers list, any suggestions for the units they'd often field etc.

I don't care about competitive performance, I just want a fluffy list.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

What's left of Cadia

Off the top of my head:
Possessed
Dark Apostle
Cultists
Chaos Sorceror

That's the great thing about the word bearers is that pretty much every unit in the chaos codex is fairly fluffy for them, since they're one of the most dedicated legions to the dark gods most of the cult troops (barring maybe 1k sons) would be fluffy, along with all the vehicles and demon engines

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Gal Vorbak and daemons would be pretty fluffy with liberal sprinklings of dark apostles.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Nah, the Dark Apostles are the leaders of the Word Bearers, there should only be one in command of the army. A Host is commanded by a Dark Apostle and a Coryphaus. The second in command is the First Acolyte, and under that are the different Captains of the Host.
I don't think you can have Gal Vorbak in 40k, but any deamonically possessed unit would be very fluffy, as well as daemons themselves.
Also, cultists. Huge loads of cultists.

Sounds great. Anything they particularly preferred for Heavy Support? Presumably Maulerfiends, Forgefiends and Defilers because they're daemon engines?

Word Bearers are one of those legions where almost anything fits, steer clear of the cult units (bezerk, tsons etc) and you're golden.
