a friend and I recently started a campaign (Space Wolves vs. Tyranids). After our first couple of games my Genestealer Broodlord had distinguished himself nicely. Having taken out the enemy Warlord in Game 1. Prevented the Space Wolves from getting victory in Game 2 by decimating over 25 space wolf kills in 2 games. He also managed to survive both games with exactly 1 wound.

I thought it appropriate I customize my Broodlord for the rest of the campaign. I nicknamed him Devil of Fenris, and game up with the below first attempt at a conversion.

- I used some bits from left over carnifex scything talons to create mandibles for the Devil
- first attempt at Greenstuff work. Cut and re-positioned the foot on the body of the Space Wolf to make it look limp.
- used a mixture of clear scrapbook glue, red paint, and 'ard coat to get the gore effects
- cut and fit the power sword to make it look like the Broodlord was run through but kept on going.
- first attempt at applying decals. Was very frustrating, destroyed two decals and nearly ruined the shoulder paint job before I got to what you see below.
- used selective glazing techniques to get the subtle shading on the space wolf cloak (hard to see unless you zoom in on the picture but looks great up close).
- first use of pinning. Had to pin the Broodlord arm to hold the extra weight of the space wolf torso
- used some left over bits from necrons to make a spinal column which was carved a little to give it a little more organic look
- made some cuts into the space wolf's torso, knees, and power pack to tell the tale of a hard fought battle
- used some paper clips to make bone stumps sticking out of the missing knee and out of the hand holding the power sword to make it look like the marine has been torn apart.

Enjoy

Here's a good lower front shot. You can see the gore on the leg, and hand stumps, the spinal column and some battle damage on the SW
Spoiler:

Here are a couple of top down shots where you can see the entrance and exit wounds of the blade line up as well as some more detail on the gore and damage the marine took in the battle.
Spoiler:

Here's the rear exit wound and some tears in the cape and damage to the back of the marine's pack
Spoiler:

Lastly a couple of side shots

There is not this idea.

Some nice customizing work there, though I feel like your base is almost overshadowing the rest of the figure.

Very cool. Good to see 'in game' actions influencing modelling.

Very nice, I love the lore. Ditch the foliage on the base, it really detracts from the model.

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

Agreed. Really like it but that bush just doesn't do it. Detracts. Out something smaller?
