Hi @ all,

I will Play in two weeks the Q3 Event and I think to play following build:

Scimitar [38]
- Mirok 4 (Captain) (R.I.S. Apnex) [2]
- Mendak (Admiral) (I.R.W. Haakona) [4]
- Interphase Generator (R.I.S. Apnex) [3]
Ship Total: 47 SP

1st Wave Attack Fighters [24]
- Flanking Attack (1st Wave Attack Fighters) [3]
Ship Total: 27 SP

Reman Starship (Reman Warbird) [36]
- Donatra 6 (Captain) (I.R.W. Valdore) [4]
- Advanced Cloaking (I.R.W. Vorta Vor) [3]
- Glinn Daro (Assimilated Vessel 64758) [3]
Ship Total: 46 SP

Resource: Officer Exchange Program (Officer Exchange Program Resource) [0]

Fleet Total: 120 SP

Ideas:

-Scimitar gets attack die from Donatra + BS from the Admiral and gets the Bonus from Mirok (repair 1 shield or hull) --> when I made an Action and don´t create a Static Warp Shell.

-Flanking Attack will give the Scimitar one big attack

-Glinn Daro the same like Mirok on Reman Warbird

What do you think?

What does Flanking Attack do for the fighters? Because I recommend brining the Federation Attack Squadron 6. They basically have double the hit points of the Hideki squadrons, and have a better dial.

Flanking Attack allows one time a friendly ship in range 1 of your ship to get attack dies in the amount of the number of attack squadron token.
Flanking Attack must be discardet and the fighter cant´t shot for this round.

So the Scimitar gets his 6 attacks + 1 Donatra + 5 Attack Squadron Tokens + BS for one round.
I saw that last OP in a list of a Player.

This is an excellent fleet. My only comments: I'd probably get rid of Advanced Cloaking and Glinn Daro and instead use another Interphase Generator, Romulan Helmsman, or Counter Attack into your fleet. You might run into some difficulty with only skill 6 captains.

Having no rear arc and a large turn radius, Romulan Helmsman was made for a Reman Warbird (disable Helmsman to make a red maneuver into a white maneuver). After the initial joust, you can simply do a 180 come about and still have all your actions.

My typical games with the Reman Warbird usually go something like this: Cloak, Target Lock and close. Initial joust, I take some damage (Interphase Generator), I do some damage (usually a lot thanks to 6+ attack dice), then after this initial joust, I raise my shields, do a come about (Romulan Helmsman), fleet action for BS or another Target Lock, and finish off the ships I damaged in the initial joust. Then I recloak and play on.

Things that disrupt this attack: Romulan Cloaked Mines, that really, really hurt when you are cloaked, fighters, because they are so maneuverable and it doesn't matter how many attack dice you throw at them- they only lose 1 stack per attack. A "staggered" formation of enemy ships- meaning I can usually kill the lead ship, but there are 2-3 ships after him preventing me from doing the come about, so it's one long joust lasting multiple turns.

People think that cloaking is this great defense on a Reman Warbird and try to use all the cloaking tricks they can to remain cloaked. Consider this: The Reman Warbird has 7 hull and 3 shields along with two defense dice and six attack dice. 6/2/7/3 No other ships besides the Borg have a stat line like that. Use it! This ship is a beast! Unless you have some way to convert defense dice, on average while cloaked, you'll be rolling 6 defense dice, which has a probability of only 2-3 evades. Any hits or crits after that go straight to the hull. Cloaking like this works against ships throwing only 3-4 attack dice. I can't remember the last time someone only threw 3-4 attack dice at me. It's usually 6-10 attack dice with conversions. Consider just 6 attack dice with conversions against a cloaked ship: That's 3 hits and 2 crits , and 6 defense dice just eliminated the crits, but you took 3 hits to the hull. You're already half dead after one attack. If you are unlucky enough to get a crit on your ship, you'll be dealing with it for the rest of the game. It's far, far easier to get more attack dice with conversions in this game then defense dice with conversions. Even with a [BS] next to your ship, 6 defense dice then go up to 3-4 evades. Still only 50% evades with six defense dice.

If you had kept your shields up and used an evade action instead, you still would have negated both crits and taken 3 hits on your shields- but you still have 7 hull. This ship is a tank with a big gun. Use it.

One of my local Romulan players runs a Reman Warbird with an Interphase Generator and Counter Attack. All he does is run it straight at the enemy and dares them to attack him.

I too, have been on the receiving end of a large Flanking Attack from the Dominion Fighters and another ship. What was recently pointed out to me was that the Fighters have to be in range of the enemy ship in order to use the Flanking Attack, not just range 1 of the friendly ship. This limits the range 3 snipe attacks I was receiving.

Good luck, and have fun!

Hi Tamwulf,

thank you for your detailed answer. I agree with you.

I let the Fighter on my list because I will play the flanking attack to support the Scimitar or the Borg ship.

And somehow I came across the ship and now I have a great desire to play it.

Here my new list idea:

Queen Vessel Prime [42]
- Tactical Drone 4 (Captain) (Borg Sphere 4270) [3]
Ship Total: 45 SP

1st Wave Attack Fighters [24]
- Flanking Attack (1st Wave Attack Fighters) [3]
Ship Total: 27 SP

Scimitar [38]
- Salatrel 5 (Captain) (Avatar of Tomed) [3]
- - Counter Attack (Starter Set) [2]
- Interphase Generator (R.I.S. Apnex) [3]
- Romulan Helmsman (I.R.W. Haakona) [2]
Ship Total: 48 SP

Fleet Total: 120 SP

I would suggest swapping the Queen Vessel Prime for Sphere 4270: It saves two points and the Sphere can split its dice between two enemy ships, which is a great way to handle fighters. It's still a 360 arc ship with firepower 6, its still pretty tough, and those points could be spent to purchase something small for another ship.
