Has anyone here used the Forgeworld Etched Brass? I am looking to get a sheet or two to upgrade all of my Crimson Fists to have molded shoulder pads and to add some details to all of my vehicles. Is it fairly easy to mold it to a round surface like the pauldron?

Also, most of the included large symbols have Imperial Fist names molded in, like Sigismund or Lysander. How easy is it to erase or cover up those names so I can put Crimson Fist names in there?

Lastly, has anyone used the etched brass symbols to add detail to a Chapter Standard? I want to make a Chapter Standard for my Honour Guard (or buy the FW Imperial Fists Command set). Will the etched brass warp to fit a Standard easily?

I can't answer your questions (sorry!) but you might want to look at the 40k 25th anniversary figure; it comes with an awesome Crimson Fists banner.

I have not used FW etched brass but most historical kits I do have heaps of it. If you use tweezers and properly flatten it (in this case flatten it) to the shape of the surface it till look good and go on easy.

Its pretty easy stuff to use just take it easy the first few times.

How forgiving is the material? Is there a good tool that works for molding it?

Most eBay sellers want $60 or more for that limited edition figure. No thanks. I could buy the Imperial Fists Command, get two marines that would go in my Honour Guard that look great, and be able to afford the Imperial/Crimson Fists Etched Brass. It is a cool figure, but not $60 cool.

Very forgiving, simply use a tweezer and have a flat surface to flatten the brass if you mess up (which won't happen).

Etched brass is like a flexible thin metal that you bend as you please (not too much) if that helps.

Sounds good. As long as it molds well to a pauldron, I am good. Most of the reviews I have seen about it imply it works quite nice. Two sheets would provide me with enough little Fist icons to use on the shoulders. Just tired of looking at a bunch of messy decals (which do NOT mold to shoulders well). Could spice up a lot of my vehicles too.

I have used the sheet for the Grey Knights. The bits mold very easily to odd shapes like banners and shoulder pads. The eraser on the end of a pencil is a perfect tool for pressing the bit onto an uneven surface.
