Odd question I know, just verifying. It's a pain not having a store near me.

No, the box does not seem to have a shrink wrapping.

Thank you very much for the reply. I won't be able to assemble him until I get through some of my other projects and was worried it had been previously opened and messed with.

My Wraithknight didn't come with shrink wrapping but it was one of those boxes where the end opens and there's the little flap thing that holds it closed, as opposed to where half the box slides over the other half (if you get what I mean..?) I assume the former doesn't come shrink wrapped while the latter does.

Not sure, since I don't see much GW product on the shelves anymore but from what I do see, it seems GW is not shrink wrapping their boxes anymore to cut costs.

I am only guess since I see other boxes shrinked wraaped, but not sure if that is old product or not.

There's two Imperial knights at my local hobby store. The box is harder to get into than the Black Library

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

Small boxes, books, and White Dwarf come shrink-wrapped but not the really large boxes like the Knight.

They use to. When I bought a battlebox (or what ever they call them now) they use to be shrinked wrapped, now I notice they are not anymore. That is why I guessed GW doesn't do it anymore to save costs.

The closest equivalent to a battalion box is actually fairly large now, and there is a secondary tray packed inside.

Those things can be a pain to remove from the box.

It might be to save costs, but the boxes are different. They open at the end and have one of those slidy catch things, as opposed to half the box sliding over the other half.
