Hi everyone! I've been working on this army list. My goals with it are to maximise the fun factor as well as Terminator model count; I'm thinking 30 minimum. The plan with the list is deep strike all the Terminators on turn-1. To do that I've got:
- 6x Servo-skulls
- Nemesis Strike Force: roll 3+ for reserves on turn-1
- Officer of the Fleet (+1 to reserve rolls); he goes in a Chimera with camo netting behind an aegis defence line for a 3+ cover save
- Comms relay

My main worries for the list are:
- Having the servo-skulls removed from play early on and massive deep strike scatters/catastrophes
- Losing 80% of the time. This point isn't so important, but of course it's good to win something like a minimum of 4/10 games

Fortifications: 75
- Aegis defence line + Comms relay = 75

Inquisitorial Detachment: 68
- Inquisitor + 3x Servo-skulls = 34
- Inquisitor + 3x Servo-skulls = 34

Allied Detachment: Astra Militarum: 220
- H.Q.: Company Command Squad + Officer of the Fleet + Chimera + Camo netting
- Troops: 10x Veterans

Nemesis Strike Force: 1635
H.Q.: Librarian + Storm-bolter = 105
*Warlord

Troops: 1530
- 10x Terminators + 2x Nemesis daemon hammers + 2x Psycannons = 390
* Combat-squad this unit:
-- 2x Psycannons + 3x Swords
-- 2x Hammers + 3x Swords

- 10x Terminators + 2x Nemesis daemon hammers + 2x Psycannons = 390
* Combat-squad this unit:
-- 2x Psycannons + 3x Swords
-- 2x Hammers + 3x Swords

- 10x Terminators + 2x Nemesis daemon hammers + 2x Psycannons = 390
* Combat-squad this unit:
-- 2x Psycannons + 3x Swords
-- 2x Hammers + 3x Swords

10x Terminators + 1x Nemesis daemon hammer + 2x Incinerators = 360
* Combat-squad this unit:
-- 2x Incinerators + 3x Swords
-- 1x Hammers + 4x Swords + Librarian

GK Librarians are 110 base, not 105.

I'd make sure to double-check that the Officer of the Fleet benefits your whole army. A lot of those rules have been updated to affect only their detachment.

I am the Hammer. I am the right hand of my Emperor. I am the tip of His spear, I am the gauntlet about His fist. I am the woes of daemonkind. I am the Hammer.

Thanks for your reply and points correction, DarkLink.

I double-checked the BRB and -- concerning Battle Brothers -- it states that they "Can use modifiers and re-rolls that apply to Reserve Rolls that are granted by a Battle Brother's model". The Astra Militarum codex also states that you "receive +1 bonus to all Reserve Rolls during your turn".

Other than the issue with the points cost, what are your thoughts on the list and overall strategy? I reckon this list is vulnerable to attrition over the course of several game turns, although I can also see it dealing crippling blows to some armies as soon as the Termies arrive

I recommend checking out the Tabletop Tactics channel on YouTube. Great batreps and the guy plays a GK style similar to yours, opting to run as many Terminators as possible (although he usually runs NDKs and Paladins as well) so you can see how it works against a few different opponents. Me personally, I like the variety of armor so I run 2 Libs, 2 x 5 Terminators, 2 x 5 Interceptors, 2 NDKs base, and then go from there. This isn't competitive at all by the way, but I've had fun with shunting half my army exactly where I want it turn one and using flamer templates liberally.

You'll win big or lose big...but you'll know by turn 2. Either way, you'll have a lot of fun playing it. Not super competitive, but at the mid-tier range you'll actually do pretty well; it takes a lot of firepower to get through all those 2+ saves. I would drop the storm bolter from the librarian though, 5 points is too much for another 2 S4 shots.
One practical tip is when placing objectives, put them all in your opponent's deployment zone except for one in yours. That way your termies can hold and contest while killing, and your opponent has to stay and fight you if they want to win. And of course, go first if at all possible...then you only take one turn of shooting before you get to charge.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Come play versus my DA or my centurion star, you will get why this list wont bring you far XD To be honest, i tried it in the past and its no fun at all as soon as you did deep strike... Either you get table at turn 2 or you last longer but you keep chasing your opponent, which is laughing hard cauz you cant even charge him with your poor 6'' move.... Have fun mate !

Im just telling him the truth... It gets boring very quick and its not fun at all like it used to be... In the past, it was very awsome since you never knew if you would roll 1s.Today its all about if you can roll 5s+... I know what i am talking about since i played this list for at least a month. There is nothing ''fun'' about telling a guy to buy a large amount of useless units then regrets it. Plus, like he said in the first post, he doesnt want to lose all his games so just tell him how it goes on the table... Leave the fluff behind... We all have different point of vue tho and i respect your but no point to tell him to ignore mine... Happy wargaming guys !
