A few tips from a veteran pure wolf ( i hate allies

)
1. if you are investing in melta drop pods go all or nothing, put 2xmelta in each squad and a combi melta wolf guard sergeant (3 melta shots make huge difference in alpha strike)
Also always take odd numbers of pods (3,5,7 etc) even if you have to take an empty one, to have maximun number of them arriving first turn.
2. Loose the power fists from the sergeants for 2 reasons. First they have a combi melta so most of the times they will be in the front for melta range so they will take much heat.
Second they will get challenged and killed most of the time before they even hit.
3. The wolves unleashed detachment is good only if you have lots of reserves because it allows a reserve unit to autiomatic arrive each turn. You dont use that rule with that list.
Better take a Company of the great wolf detachment (1HQ, 2ELITES) in order to give your thunderwolves +1WS and use better relics (fellclaws teeth, kraken bone sword) and warlord traits and take the runepriest as an allied
CAD (1HQ, 2TROOPS) in order to give your grey hunters and pods objective secure. Also in the company of the great wolf detach the battle leader gets
PE in challenges so i would make your lord a battle leader with Runic armour, storm shield krakenbone sword and thunderwolf (and fellclaws teeth if you spare the points, but he already gets rerolls cause of mastercrafted sword and
PE in challenges).
4. For elite slots you could use ironpriests on thunderwolves or lonewolves or even cheap servitors
5. Loose the fenriasian wolves they are too weak to do anything, the melta bombs are useless also and the razorback is not worth the cost as a weapon platform.
6. Dont over load your thunderwolves, i prefer 1xPF, and all stormshields in a 4 model unit. If you attach an iron priest, the battle leader and the runepriest you have alot ap1 -2 and str10 attacks, combine them with the melta
GHs and you dont need melta bombs.

PS: This is my aggressive pure wolves list, just to give you an idea. From my experience this is one of the best pure wolf builds for 1500 points.

Ironpriest goes with one thunderwolf squad and battle leader with the other and they tank ap3 wounds with their 2+ save. Grey hunters capture objectives with their pods and melt tanks.
Terminators drop with runepriest for 10 twin linked plasma shots with presience or if iam lucky i may give my thunerwolves feel no pain or get iron arm and strike with my force sword at initiative. The terminators are survivable with 2x stormshields at the front and
WS 5 ap2 attacks + runepriest are good unit in assault and i cover my compulsory elite slot with a fluffy unit.
