That's because it came from the CGI series. It's able to shrink its arms down, and there's a more advanced infiltrator bug species that's able to switch between human and bug DNA. Just wait

So much for imagination. It's most likely a parasitic bug that causes it's host to metamorphosize into the model shown.

Nay. It's able to compact its body to fit inside of the suits. It's taken from the Roughnecks Chronicles TV series that was done a few years back. There's two different breeds, the Infiltrator Bugs and then the Cloned Bugs. The cloned bugs are the ones able to shift between human form and a mutated Bug/Human hybrid. The Infiltrator bugs appeared during the Klendathu campaign after a member of the Roughnecks turned from an infection during the Zephyr campaign. There IS a parasite bug, called the Control Bug. It appeared first during the Tophet campaign and was responsible for the Skinnies being so hostile. I don't want to spoil anything else, I'd like to suggest that you all check out the Roughnecks Chronicles. It's a fairly well done CGI series, that was never given too much credit. It was made targetting kids, but it did a fairly good job. Except for the fact you'd never hear a grown man during combat saying "Crap". Check Amazon.com for the DVD set, I'd suggest buying the Complete Campaigns, as it's a MUCH better deal for all episodes.

Looks like a total break in style from the other bugs in the game.  Compared to some of the really excellent stuff they have turned out for SST, this is just bad.

I like it, but not for SST.

It's a forward scout for yet another race of bug-eyed monsters terrorizing the fringes of Imperial space. OR it's a particularly gribbly Tau mercenary race. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I hope it's modular so I can have a whole squad of them.
