Alright. So I'm new to chaos and their fluff... but I'm sort of confused on the Daemonkin and how they interact with the rest of Chaos.

Chaos is obviously fighting the imperium and all that. But do the Khorne Daemonkin warbands have the same motives? Do they fight along side space marines of Tzeench, Nurgle, and Slaanesh in an effort to overthrow the imperium, or are they a separate entity at this point, only fighting for the sake of fighting?

I want to run a Daemonkin list but sort of have a problem with the idea that my army is only fighting for the sake of spilling blood, and has no purpose aside from that... because in the end, wouldn't they end up killing each other?

Well daemonkin are new... So no stories about them interacting yet.. but.. similar to world eaters I guess, they will fight with other chaos warbands, but its never going to go well...

The Daemonkin care only about killing and summoning Khorne's Legion into the universe. They don't give a crap about the Long War and everyone is a fitting sacrifice to Khorne.

The way I look at most chaos space marines, renegades and cultists is that they are still people. Underneath all their power armor (or T shirts depending on the person in question) is still a human being. They will still do what they want to do as they are not 100% bound to the chaos gods in the same manor as possessed soldiers or daemon princes are.

This means that they themselves will decide what they want to do. Some will care about focusing on the desires of their god, others will focus on destroying the Imperium and some will only want to kill anything and everything that is not one of them.

How exactly the Daemonkin differ from regular chaos space marines is beyond me however. I have not read any of their fluff nor do I own their codex so I cant really give an opinion on them. I have just assumed so far that they are chaos space marines and cultists who have gone the extra step in devoting themselves to their gods, but how this effects them I do not know.

A really good 'daemonkin' warband in the background is the Cholercaust - the antagonists in the Legion Of The Damned novel.

Daemonkin as I see them are a mixture of daemons and mortals who worship khorne. And that's it... So really they will go around the galaxy trying to please Khorne... which is what any cult marine/daemon warband does... so as long as whatever they are doing is in someway an offering to Khorne they can do whatever they want to.

Just like any cult marine warband they can ally with another chapter/daemons they aren't just a bunch of crazed mortals/daemons.
