If you were to couple a Baronial Court with Cult Mechanicus allies (a Dominus with the Uncreator Gauntlet is a required addition to the list in question), what sort of Knights/loadouts and additional Cult Mechanicus units would you want to take to create a steamroller list of the highest degree?

War Convocation formation and a Knight.

Knights roll over and die to enough things that a multi-knight list sits in that tier between "wins tournaments" and "everyone else".

So I mean knowing that, what poolatka said.

Agreed. The War Convocation is incredibly powerful because (a) you get all the weapon upgrades you want for free and (b) you benefit from the Canticles rule - giving you twin-linked weapons, stealth/shrouded knights, whatever is most advantageous.

If you want to stick with a baronial court..... You've got a heavy lance of knights, so you're going to have to be tactical - choosing melee or shooting as required by your opponent. The dominus is okay but if you're wanting him for repair you have the problem that you can't use your knights speed of maneuver if you want him to keep up.

I'd take primarily kataphron destroyers. Grav cannons murder 2+ save targets - even gargantuan ones - efficiently. That means you don't need to worry about such targets for your knights which in turn means you don't need to take any thermal cannon-wielding errants.

Would you use any cerastus-pattern knights?

Canticles don't give you twin-linked. They give you rerolls of missed rolls to hit. So I don't think they work on the blast weapons of most knights. ?

Its debatable if partial rerolls let you reroll blasts as well (as the blast rule just says you have to have the ability to reroll, it doesn't say how good it has to be)

Hmmm I thought that the blast rules specified twin-linking, not just any old reroll.

I think it would be weird if all the canticle levels applied equally to blast weapons. But this is probably a YMDC issue.

In my experience, the chain-gun knight is the best one for cult mech anyhow, as they just need weight of fire to win.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

The Warden, or the Crusader. Although, the points saved on a Gallant can be spent elsewhere.

I have an 1850pts list I like with Baronial Court and Gerantius.
I have a Crusader as warlord so I can take advantage of WS/BS 5. Give Him Mark of the Omnisiah for the IWND.
Also take a Paladin and a Warden to supplement him.
That and reroll warlord trait hoping I get Ion Bulwark for a mean Ion shielding Machine. 3++ with reroll 1s is no joke.
The only list that beats it out is the Exalted Court of House Terryn, but that is a guaranteed 1900pts

- 10000+ pts
Imperial Knights- 5 Standard Knights / 3 Cerastus Knights
Officio Assassinorum - 4 Assassins
CSM - 500pts? Maybe? Its from the Officio Assassinorum box so I'm pretty sure its not enough to run in a CAD
Vampire Lords- I have no idea I bought it like two days before I left country and they're still in storage so I'll have to see when I get back.]
