So me and the folks I game with have started looking what we can do with the stuff coming out next wave. Looking at Ackbar it seems you could do some rather brutal things with him. Taking CR90As with enhanced armament can net you 5 red dice on a concentrated broadside. In a 300 list you could fit in 4 of those with Ackbar and a CR90B with dodonnas pride. In the past 5 corvettes with Mon mothma have been tricky to verse as they flit around and gradually plink your shields and hull down. But with Ackbar they've double the firepower, rather than plinking at star destroyers, they'll be chewing through them. Any ideas from an imperial standpoint? (Can Inc wave 2 ships)

Maybe to get the ball rolling I've been thinking either squardon heavy (although to be fair you could drop one CR90A for 4 xwings and still be looking good) or else something like 3 Victory class 1s with tarkin, 3 defence liasons, 2 with phylon tractor beams and gunnery teams. Try and sweep the board with them so their front arcs are unavoidable for at least 1 turn and just spam concentrated fire dials that can be changed to navigates and repairs as needed with liasons + tokens from tarkin. 294 total so a decent bid at iniative which I think would also be very valuable in this case.

The 5 CR-90/Ackbar and even the 4 CR-90 + 4 X-Wing lists have big trouble with dealing with fighters. Rhymer and a few Bomber Squadrons could seriously hurt any of the CR-90s if activated via Squadron Command, and the 4 X-wings could easily be pinned by 4-5 TIES or 3-4 TIE Ints, and outright eliminated with a combo of Mauler, Fel, and TIE Adv.

The CR-90's though are just going to be very fragile overall. As long as you're able to land at least four dice on them, they'll be hurting. If you've got Admiral Screed with some amount of Gladiators (w/ Concussions or Assault Protons) and/or two Raiders (w/Assault Protons and/or Overload Pulse), you can guarantee some level of critical damage going through almost every time you shoot at them.

My opinion on the CR-90 is that it is an objective grabber first and fire-support second. I find them a bit too fragile to use in numbers as a main attack force. However, I will say that if I bring Ackbar in a list, I will bring a CR-90A with Enhanced Armament and let loose an unexpected attack on something's rear arc .

Fair point, although at long range corvettes can still be rather durable thanks to evade tokens. Once within medium range or less they start to fall apart.

Corvettes are pretty poor anti squadron wise and I also think the squadrons would work, the main thing is just that without squadron dials they really wont be doing much. So that's sorta been the thing I've been mulling over, redundancy in 3 victories, or damage output with the bombers (but less ships). There's also the fact that the larger the gap between the number of ships the two sides field, the more sequential ship activations the rebels get which is undesirable. Guess could try something like 1 victory, gladiator, raider then squadrons, kind of like you'd mentioned.
