Hi fellow 8th and older Warhammer Fantasy players. My local group still loves 8th, as do I (Well not love but it is the edition we enjoy). I am doing up my VC army and would like some idea's for unit center pieces, giant obelisks etc to fill out my units. If you have army fillers for any army or gaming fantasy system please share them below.

Mnay thanks!

PS i do enjoy AoS but i have Dwarves for that edition.

I'm aware that I'm a little late to the table here, and somewhat empty handed but as a fellow player of old hammer (wood elves and goblins) I feel obliged to participate. Problem is I've no idea what you mean. Unit centre piece? Army filler? I haven't come across this concept in my gaming this far.

pray do expand and I'll gladly get thinking on options for the aspiring vampire count on the table top of the old world. And for my own armies no doubt.

Ok, I did some research, so first off, Great! I'm exited to make some unit fillers for my gobos, probably not for the wood elves as there's no point with such small units.

Anyway, back to your question, just off the top of my head...

An open grave.
A grave with skeletal/undead hand breaking out
A desecrated grave with grave robbers
A rich man's big old tomb stone memorial with your own name on it
A similar one with your opponents name on it (if you're mate would take it as a joke and not be mortally offended)
A chained and padlocked sepulchre/vaulted tomb
An open sepulchre with a flock of bats flying out
A grave yard with famous horror writer's names on the stones. B. Stoker, M. Shelley, H. P. Hovercraft, etc
A stone coffin/sarcophagus thingy with a ghost rising through the lid
A bunch of robed figures around an infernal diagram, with candles and daggers and beer

A creepy deed twisted tree
With a large bat hanging in it
With a black cat in it
With a raven in it
With a hobbit's foot sticking out
With a carving in it either of a magical nature or just some old ac/dc graffiti

A vampire sucking blood from a victim
A vampire/acolyte performing a sacrifice
A vampire/acolyte performing necromancy
A vampire/acolyte making a Frankenstein's monster
A bunch of devotees of cthulu dancing in a circle around a graven stone

Some daft ideas might be...
The cast of the Rocky horror picture show
The cast of the Adams family
Beetlejuice, Jack Skellington in a Santa suit, Batman and Buffy playing twister
A row of zombies doing a conga line
A base of zombies break dancing
A base of zombies throwing dice and betting their own body parts
A base of zombies playing the sport of your choice with a head for a ball and/or a leg for a bat
A base of zombies cheating at twister by removing their overstretched limbs to reach the dots
A base of zombies laughing at the guy doing the zombie arms out forward pose.
Some vampire frat boys yelling chug chug chug as a vamp cugs a golden chalice of blood
A vamp with a beer hat but with two blood bags instead of beer cans
A vamp with a map beside a signpost reading "blood bank 9 miles"
...
Ok I'm out. Hope that helps.

A vamp playing an old Hammond organ
Some little kids in trick-or-treat costumes with Jacko-lantern sweetie buckets.
Zombie crowd surfer!

Almost any of the zombie ones could be exchanged for skeletons of course.

For my witch elves I wanted 3 boxes to stretch to a unit of 50. So I made 5-6 unit fillers, I made two sacrificial alters using Balin's tombs, two wells of blood, a base with two elves dancing over a chopped up giant, and can't remember what the other one was now.

For vc, I've seen many garden of morr pieces used, zombie ogres, just hands emerging from the ground on a normal base, corpse cart piles etc. They are a really good idea, as long as the unit still looks substantial for the size it's meant to be.
