Probably a case of over thinking but I've got year of hell coming up and decided to crack out my Fed for a change (Did my last 2 Ops Romulan) and it occurs to me since the wave is going to be moving across the table it sort of cuts down on the manoeuvre shenanigans I can pull, if I can;t evade firing arcs one way I decided to try to evade them another hence the Federation fist fighter fleet.
U.S.S. Voyager [30]
- Jean-Luc Picard 8 (Captain) [5]
- - Federation Task Force [5]
- Tom Paris [4]
- Pavel Chekov [3]
Ship Total: 47 SP
U.S.S. Prometheus [30]
- Hayes 5 (Captain) [3]
- Shanthi (Admiral) [2]
- Dorsal Phaser Array [6]
Ship Total: 41 SP
U.S.S. Enterprise-D [28]
- William T. Riker 6 (Captain) [4]
Ship Total: 32 SP
Fleet Total: 120 SP
The concept's simple enough move in close and fly doughnuts while not having to worry about firing arcs from my ships With Hayes as my extra dice/Borg insurance policy, action economy is pretty lean with all 3 ships only having 1 action, but it should pack a punch and keep me out of harms way.
The second list is a little more catered... see my last OP had 8 people in it, I faced scimitars in 2 out of three matches and the third was against a klingon Vorcha fleet... LOOOOOT of cloaking down our way
U.S.S. Prometheus [30]
- Khan Singh 8 (Captain) [4]
- High Energy Sensor Sweep [5]
- Dorsal Phaser Array [6]
- Geordi La Forge [4]
- Follower of Khan [1]
Ship Total: 50 SP
Fighter Squadron 6 [24]
- Coordinated Attack [3]
Ship Total: 27 SP
U.S.S. Enterprise-D [28]
- Jean-Luc Picard 9 (Captain) [6]
- - Federation Task Force [5]
- Shanthi (Admiral) [2]
- Miles O'Brien [2]
Ship Total: 43 SP
Resource: Officer Exchange Program [0]
- Federation Faction
- Independent Faction
Fleet Total: 120 SP

So yeah... it a firepower drop and a Quality overdose Khan's Prometheus should easily be able to crit through most cloaks with a free scan + La Forge neutering 2 defence dice out of a usual 5/6 Picard's ship is now capable of either supporting via Task force/O'Brien ganking or putting out 4 attack dice with Target Lock and Battle stations. If I'm correct the fighter squadron can use Shanthi's fleet action to force cloak ships to red side and still get battle stations off co-ordinated assault as it doesn't need an action.
My only concern with list B is the fighters being left in the dust but if i can keep them together I think it puts out so much dice quality. Wondering what other peoples opinions are...

I like it, but which Chekov and why? Captian Spock is better than Riker and allows you to field the evade Riker Crew

I like both lists. The only thing i might change is put Shanthi on the D to stop cloaking shenanigans and put Spock on the Prometheus with Hays as Admiral. Spock will give you some quality when you want to use Hays action. Automatically Appended Next Post: OK no Spock, got it.
Well put Janeway on the Prometheus with Hayden for a skill 9 and put Hayes on the D. Hayes can do his thing and Since you are really just using Janeway for her skill she can just do BS, but you have the Option for double evade when you need it.

Looking at it again I'm liking the Khan list more and more and noticed if I cut O'Brien I could upgrade the Ent-D to Voyager and swap the follower of Khan out for an escape pod.
The reasoning for the escape pod?....get Geordie onto a ship that can pull 2 scan tokens a turn + his hi jinks. He's not on there to start with as I think Khan will get the most out of him with BS from him, Target Lock from Task Force and -2 effectively off target defence dice.
And has nothing to do with the thought of Khan and Picard fighting over helm control on Voyager....
....Nothing at all.....
Thanks for the advice I've been on the look out for the earlier Fed ships but they don;t pop up too often, you cant get a defiant for love nor money around here -_-

Honestly, don't forget about the Thunderchild. I prefer it with dorsal phaser Array over Enterprise D, though it does cost a whopping 5 points more, it has a better agility and the special ability makes it a bit more dangerous.

Ok played the op today, went with khan's list in the end.
Game 1
Borg Queen Vessel
Queen
Borg Sphere
Tactical Drone
Borg Scout Cube
Tactical Drone
Game was pretty quick, closed to minimum range and blasted the borg to pieces one ship at a time, lost Khan's Prometheus, forgot about the escape pod, othet than that total wipe win.
Game 2 (Never help your friends)
I preface by saying this list was a daft concoction between me and my best mate, this list placed first in the OP
Assimilated Galor
Multikinetic Neutron Mines
Borg Tractor Beam
Breen captain (Dont remember which)
Galor/Keldon
Dukat
Madred
Aft Weapons
Hideki's
My only loss of the day and it was brutal my fleet popped, his had the keldon and hidekis on one point remaining, dropped the kinetic mines turn 2 ran over them repeatedly with hideki's and forced me into them, his other two games were both total board wipes through mine detonation between the wave and range 3 mines, no one was safe.
Game 3
Fed vs Fed
Hood
Spock
Photons
Thunderchild
Sisko
Photons
Enterprise E
Picard 8
Quantum
Turn 2 both fleets were nose to nose, Picard 8 knocked some shields off Khan, my picard and Khan fire combined wiped the enterprise E completely, next turn saw the hood de sheilded and crippled then finished off by 7 target locked, battle stationed attack dice from the fighter squad on its tail, voyager took a quantum up the tailpipe and popped Khan put 5 crits on the Thunderchild who only had 2 hull left ending the game decisively.
I learnt a few things from today, Geordie +High energy sweep was a waste of 9 points, Khan is a God among men and NEVER suggest a wonky assed build to a freind....
Or lend him cards.

Well, on the bright side every time your friend looks at his beleraphon, he knows it was with your help he won it.
Sounds like your event when tons smoother than mine. at least you managed a few kills before the wave hit you.
