Hey, have been toying with the idea of a Slaanesh CSM army with some sonic weapons and thought Daemons would help out in CC and provide some extra bodies that offer something more than just the speed bump of cultists.

CSM (1368)
HQ
Chaos Lord, Mark of Slaanesh, Burning Brand of Skalathrax
110

Sorcerer, Mark of Slaanesh, Mastery Level 3
125

TROOPS
8 Noise Marines, 6 Sonic Blasters
164

5 Noise Marines, Blastmaster
125

5 Noise Marines, Blastmaster
125

10 Chaos Cultists
50

10 Chaos Cultists
50

ELITES
Sonic Dreadnought, Warp Amp, Blastmaster
190

Helbrute, Power Scourge, Combi-Bolter
115

HEAVY SUPPORT
Chaos Predator, 2 Sponson Lascannons, Twin-Linked Lascannon Turret
140

5 Havocs, 4 Missile Launchers with Flakk
175

CHAOS DAEMONS (480)
HQ
Herald of Slaanesh, Exhalted Reward (Grimoire of True Names), Mastery Level 1
100

Herald of Slaanesh, Lesser Reward (Etherblade), Mastery Level 1
80

Herald of Slaanesh, Lesser Reward (Etherblade), Mastery Level 1, Steed
95

10 Daemonettes of Slaanesh, Alluress Upgrade, Lesser Reward (Etherblade), Icon of Chaos, Rapurous Standard Upgrade
125

FAST ATTACK
5 Seekers of Slaanesh, Lesser Reward (Etherblade), Icon of Chaos
80

I know there is a fair amount of the points sunk into HQ choices but I think it helps to keep the list competitive in the Psychic phase.
Lord will be added to one of the Noise Marine units. Sorcerer will also join Noise Marines (I always like to just take Psychic Powers from Discipline of Slaanesh), using Sensory Overload and/or Hysterical Frenzy just before assaulting.
Sonic Blaster Noise Marines will push up to midfield with Blast Master behind.
Helbrute and Cultists, as part of the Helcult Formation, will push forwards. Cultists can be used to tie up units with high strength and low number of attacks.
Dreadnought, Predator and Havocs will hold the back field.
2 Unmounted Heralds join Daemonettes (I'm pretty new to Daemons so I'm planning to just take powers from Daemonology though most of the Warp Charges will go to manifesting powers with the Sorcerer).
Last Herald joins Seekers.
Daemons allow for a good amount of Rending and Etherblades to deal with TEQs (Tri-Las Pred can give back up).
BBoS, ML Havocs and Blastmasters offer plenty of AP3 to deal with MEQ.
Cultists, Daemons and Sonic Blaster Noise Marines can cut down GEQ especially when hit with Symphony of Pain.
Tri-Las Pred, Helbrute, Dreadnought, ML Havocs and Blastmasters can deal with MCs and vehicles.
ML Havocs are the only source of anti-flyer or FMC in the list so I'm thinking about adding an Aegis Defence Line with Quad Gun.

If there's anything that is missing or any units that aren't worth taking let me know!

I have heard some pretty great things about them. How would you recommend kitting out the Soul Grinder?

Would you say I would be better putting in an Aegis Defence Line for anti-flyer and anti-FMC then?

Ah just had another look at the Soul Grinder and noticed the whole Skyfire bit

Dont forget Spell Familiar on the sorc! At 15 points it is a steal. Rerolling failed spell checks is the best.

Also, dont take ML on havoks, and for sure do not pay for Flakk as it is too expensive for what it does. Go for AC instead, always delivers.

Hey StixFletcher,

Some remarks:

You are somewhat heavy on HQ choices and you lack a decent target for the Grimnoire to buff.
Marking the Sorcerer means you'll have to take a Slaaneshy power. I would not do that. Unmarked Sorcerers can join Noise Marines just fine. As said, Soul Grinders are ace (I'd take the BT upgrade) and you should definately take the Spell Familiar upgrade for the Sorcerer.

120 Chaos Lord, MoS, Steed of Slaanesh, Lightning Claw, Meltabombs
150 Sorcerer, Bike, Meltabombs, ML3, Spell Familiar (2x Telepathy, 1x Daemonology)
164 8 Noise Marines, 6 Sonic Blasters
130 5 Noise Marines, Ch: Meltabombs
130 5 Noise Marines, Ch: Meltabombs
50 10 Cultists
190 Sonic Dreadnought, Warp Amp, Blast Master
165 5 Chaos Spawn. MoS (Lord and Sorcerer go here)
140 Chaos Predator, all lascannons (Consider the FW Vindicator Laser Destroyer http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/fw_site/fw_pdfs/Warhammer_40000/Deimos_Vindicator_Laser_Destroyer.pdf )

170 Herald of Slaanesh, Locus of Beguilement, Exalted Reward, ML2 (1x Telepathy, 1x Daemonology)
90 10 Daemonettes
180 15 Seekers of Slaanesh
170 Soul Grinder, DoS, BT

1849 points

The Soul Grinder can fill the anti flyer to an extent. The Spawn would give you a very sturdy and fast assault option. The Seekers unit is a great target for the Grimnoire and a possible Invisibility. The meltabombs offer a back-up against all those drop-pods in a Demi-company style list.

Hope you'll do well with your list. Nice theme!

They can take 1 blast master at 5 man and 2 at 10 man now. See GW FAQ for Chaos Space Marines: http://www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/Errata/Warhammer_40000/Chaos_Space_Marines_EN.pdf

Cilithan I went heavy on HQ as I often play some Terminator heavy armies and was thinking the Etherblade would provide okay anti-TEQ combined with Slaanesh's rending.
I personally have really enjoyed playing with the CSM Slaanesh Psychic powers so would ideally keep that in, I know they aren't the best powers available but they work for me.
The spell familiar looks decent though so I will defiantly make space for that and some Spawn! Is there any use in keeping the last cultist squad? The main reason I had 2 Units of Cultists and the Helbrute was for the formation but I think all or nothing may be better on that front.

Warzoner Phlegm Bombardment it is then!

Snorben I have always found ML Havocs have worked well for me. Though that may be my meta, I have always loved their utility. Though I think you're right about the Flakk addition being too expensive.

Tactical_Spam Are you saying drop them from my original list? or the second list? If the first should I also drop the Helbrute and forget the Helcult formation?
