I noticed that Battlescribe states that it is invalid to bring zhad's warbikers in the Great Waaagh! detachment even though he is the warlord in my combined arms detachment. Does Battlescribe not use the term 'detachment' to supersede 'army' or was there some new ruling with Zhadsnark that only affects his detachment? I've been looking around on DakkaDakka and other websites to try and find clarification.

Best I could find was a question asking about taking mek gunz in another detachment which was deemed illegal with Zhadsnark as warlord in the primary. I have also seen FrontlineGaming lists using troop bikes in secondary detachments as well as grots on 2 separate occasions. I could not find any ITC ruling that addresses this, even in the FAQ. I feel like Battlescribe is just wrong but I don't want to show up to a FLGS tournament with an illegal list.

TL;DR version: Can I take bikes as troops in detachments that Zhad isn't in even if he is warlord in primary?

Zhadsnark's rules were not written with 7th edition in mind, so the terminology isn't a very good parallel to how things currently work.

As the rules are writtent though, yes, you could take Warbikers as a Troops choice in any detachment in your army (subject to the detachment's own restrictions, e.g. all units needing to be from the same faction) provided Zhadsnark is your Warlord.

If the rules were updated though I think it likely they would apply only to Zhadsnark's detachment.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I will just ignore what Battlescribe is telling me when I print my list.
