Hi all,
I haven't painted a miniature since I built a Guard Army in 2005 that I think I played with twice. I may be the only guy Age of Sigmar worked on because I'm hooked again and I'm painting a Stormcast army.
Age of Sigmar seems like a fresh start and I can get in on the ground floor and actually get good at the game this time. Right now I only have 5 Protectors and 10 Liberators painted, with the the minis from the starter set just arrived. I'm converting one in five to helmet less Storm casts using sanguinary guard heads. Looks great so far and gives them a bit of personality like I'm used to seeing from
IG sergeants.
I'm on the road a lot as a comedian (
www.johnroylive.com) but I live in
Los Angeles and would always be up for age of Sigmar at any of the
GW or indie game stores in the area.
Looking for any advice on the game aspect. I am a massive noob. Is a game with just the starter set minis fun? What miniature count should an army be up to for a decent length game? And advice on the Stormcasts as an army? My idea is to have:
Lord castellant on dracoth
Knight-Azyros
Lord relictor
6 prosecutors
5 protectors
20 liberators
3 retributors
Is that enough to fight decent battles with? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, and I look forward to my war gaming future.
