So, I've been spending too much time over the years fiddling with rules and tweaking ideas, but no system I ever really made stuck with me, and only recently have I managed to get something that works for me on a simplistic, but functional level. So I present, the Unnamed Mech Combat Game, version 0.1. It is technically functional, but there is no scenario play, or any faction specific rules in exception of the Army Training rule for the Caryngian Principality faction.
Faction design focuses around a more elite faction with slightly more resilient mechs at a higher cost, whilst the other faction prefers cheap, easy to spam but upgrade-able chassis supported by heavier more elite units. Thematically, the Novaya Republik is a mix of Slavic and Germanic traits, whilst the Caryngian Principality is thematically Franco-Saxon. The basic setting premise is that mankind created a multitude of sleeper ships and sent them out in the void, and the current conflict is between the two major powers on a world that was settled by a few of those sleeper ships, although it was less 'colonization' and more 'crash landing' for the intrepid nation builders that now fight amongst each other in the modern setting.
