Just wanted to get peoples opinions on using fantasy models for 40k. I play CSM with a warband dedicated to nurgle, and want to start a fantasy army dedicated to the big nasty himself. So I started looking at units like blight kings and then saw the glottkin in a game. I realized the glottkin was almost the same size of a imperial Knight and started thinking of using it for a nurgle knight (I'm also thinking of getting a maggoth lord to use as a maulerfiend). I don't want to convert guns onto it cause because I feel it would look odd when used for fantasy. If I put them on the proper bases do you think people would have a problem with them?

First, Welcome to Dakka.
If it’s on the right sized base, and looks vaguely like what it’s supposed to be, most people shouldn’t have an issue with it. How many giant knight like things do you have on the table after all, it should be easy to remember what it is.
Using some sort of CC WHFB unit for maulerfiends shouldn’t be too much either. While not strictly WYSWYG, it looks like a choppy death unit, and acts like one. It’s not like you are proxying a fragile unit for a tough one, or a shooty one for a choppy one.
That said, a few things:
I prefer my opponent restricts himself to ~3 things that I need to keep track of. More then that and I’m asking what’s what all the time, or confusing things.
The other thing is you need to ask the local guys their opinion. Different areas have different cultures and expectations. What’s OK here in theoretical internet space might be frowned upon at your FLGS.

There are actually rule problems with that. If you don't have a gun, how do you measure from the gun barrel? How do you determine firing arcs? Less of an issue with walkers, but still a bit of a problem.

I can see that being a legitimate gripe. I found a picture of the Glottkin next to a knight on google and it is about the same dimensions. It might be a inch smaller, but that can be fixed by making a dynamic base to make it taller, also it has something that could look like a bile spewer on the same arm as the imperial knight, so I think it will work well.
thank you all for replying and welcoming me to Dakka. gonna give it a go and see how it turns out !

I personally would be fine with it. Id think most people would be ok with it especially in a friendly game. No sense in not asking first though
