Subject: [2000] - Deamonkin - semi-competitive tournament

Bringing my daemonkin to my first tournament using them. I don't have too many more models to play with. If needed I can get lots more bloodletters and cultists, and some blood crushers. This tournament is the end of our groups story campaign so we have some special rules. All that's relevant to the army list is my daemon prince has a boatload of special rules for assault and can carry 2 artifacts. Also, for decurion style formations we allow extra one infantry type from fast attack or elite in the main formation. In this list I am bringing raptors.
Slaughtercult: 907
Daemon Prince
- Wings, Blood Armor, Goredrinker. Battle Lord (campaign special rules, for me he gets: rampage, shred, fleet, rage, zealot, IWND and armorbane)
8 Bloodletters
- Banner, Instrument
8 Bloodletters
- Banner, Instrument
7 Possessed
- Rhino
8 Raptors
Lord of Slaughter, 275
Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (D-axe)
Goretide: 532
8 Flesh Hounds
8 Flesh Hounds
3 Bikers
- 2 melta guns, melta bombs
3 bikers
- 2 plasma guns, combi melta, melta bombs
Warmachines, 285
Maulerfiend
Soul Grinder
- Baleful Torrent
I have an extra bloodthirster I can summon in. My general strategy for blood tithe points is to get to 8 ASAP, summon the bloodthirster and use the second ability for FNP or the rage + FC. Planning on using the bloodthirsters to bring the soul grinder in for DS.

He's been ferried through hell on a ship that's ten thousand years old to some godforsaken, war-torn rock; He is one of ten million men snatched from his home to fight a war he barely understands; He wages war against devouring hiveminds, ravenous demons and hordes of hyper-advanced aliens with strange technologies and sorceries he never dreamed existed; no one will remember his sacrifice, there will be no records of his deeds, no glorious parades in his honor, and no remembrance of his name. All he will earn is a shallow, unmarked grave on a forgotten world untold lightyears from home.
Yet for all this thankless sacrifice a Guardsman is a man, just like you. He has no millennia-old genetic engineering, no prophetic leader, no miracles of faith. He has his lasgun, his orders, and those beside him. He is the Imperial Guard.
And he will hold the line.

Didn't realize that semi competitive had an official definition. I use, and see it used as a tier in between casual and top tier tournament. I wouldn't bring it to a casual game but it's nowhere near good enough to take on the high end eldar/ necron
lists.
Either way, I was hoping to get advice on my army list not my word choice

The daemon prince seems to soak up a lot of points. Otherwise, interesting idea.

Do 2x melta on both bike squads. Plasma is risky and you don't have tons of anti-tank so some redundancy is good here.
Not a big fan of Khorne e Daemon Prince but I think it works if you run him with the BT so they have to decide what to shoot. You can probably take some points off him though, I agree that he's a points sink.

When you bet in poker, you go all in or you fold. Betting small amounts will just lose your money slowly.
What I am trying to say is. Go big or go home. None of this semi crap I see every CSM list have in thier title. CSM is weak and you just have to accept that it won't be able to have a competitive advantage.
please check out this army list.

Someone seems a little bitter and upset.
Anyways, as you said, this is about your list not your language.
I like it. I actually think its relatively competitive for KDK. But I'd tweak it. Some of this is personal preference so take it with a pinch of salt.
I think the prince is a point sink also...though with the ability to take dual relics and being run alongside the Rage-Thirster I can see how he might work. The bonuses he gets does seem to make him an absolute animal in combat. Am I right in thinking that the blood forged armour makes him an eternal warrior?
I'd agree with the bike suggestion. All melta seems the most effective use. If you're set on one squad going plasma then you might as well maximise that squads damage output and go all plasma for them alone. I know that means only one bike squad can deal with armour but that brings me on to my next point.
Are the raptors optional? Or must you take an infantry choice from fast attack? If they're optional I'd drop them immediately. And I'd replace them with a second Maulerfiend. 2 maulerfiends are so much more effective than one. I feel one will get targeted fast and attract all the enemies AT. I also think it's a more effective unit than raptors.
Like I said, this is all just personal preference. For example, I'd always take phlegm on the grinder. I just think it's better.

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them |
