Blood Sacrifice to Khorne

Hey Dakka community! I want to make a slaanesh army, fluffy or competitive is up to your discretion, inspired by the hymn 'Lord of the Dance'

If possible i want to include The Masque of Slaanesh but i know that s/he isn't the most competitive

This can be daemons/marines but what i want to do is basically put lines of the songs on the banners. This means that i want every squad that can take an icon or banner to take one.

The reason why I am asking you to make this list is because i have no experience running slaanesh and i have no idea where to start.

I would love some help!

Thanks, Sam

I would start with a Chaos Lord, MOS and twin lightning claws and put him either on a bike or jump pack.

Filch has a good idea but that book may never come, so until then you can run 2 separate CADs to do what you want.

Consider IA13 lots of cheap human units that can take chaos sigils to put your lyrics on. Can have slaanesh daemon allies and noise marines and sonic dreadnought can be part of the IA13 CAD/

Here's a 1500 Slaanesh list you could try out. It's a CAD of Chaos Marines and an Allied of Demons:

COMBINED ARMS DETACHMENT

HQ

Sorcerer: MoS, ML2, Force Sword, Aura of Dark Glory, Spell Familiar, Melta Bombs. 160pts

ELITES

Noise Marine Squad x2: 9 Noise Marines w/ 7 Sonic Blasters, 2 Blastermasters, 1 Champion. 261pts

Sonic Dreadnought: Chainfist w/ Storm Bolter, Blastermaster, Warp Amp. 190pts

TROOPS

Cultist Squad x2: 9 Cultists w/ CCWs, 1 Cultist Champion. 50pts

ALLIED DETACHMENT

HQ

The Masque of Slaanesh. 75pts

TROOPS

Demonette Squad x2: 14 Demonettes, 1 Alluress w/ Ether Blade, Icon of Chaos. 160pts

FAST ATTACK

Seekers Squad: 8 Seekers, 1 Heartseeker w/ Ether Blade, Icon of Chaos. 133pts

TOTAL POINTS: 1,500

This is very different than what most people might suggest to you, but the Slaanesh Sorcerer can really help out your Sonic weaponry by rolling the Symphony of Pain power. Most armies out there are very synergistic, so this will help put some synergy into your list. The Noise Marines and Sonic Dreadnought (found in IA:13) can tear things up with their Blastermasters at range and your Sonic Blasters will do the same at 24", and this is where Symphony of Pain will cause damage, giving them S5 Sonic Blasters and S9 Blastermasters. The Sonic Dreadnought is expensive, but with BS5 he won't be missing that often with his Blastermaster, and with WS5 and base of 3 attacks with his Chainfist (free weapon), he will break things, not to mention his Warp Amp that allows him to fire his Blastermaster twice if stationary. The Demons will be your assaulting force, either dancing from cover to cover or DSing in and utilizing the Masque's Dance of Dreaming to stifle shooting. Seekers could also Out Flank for objective grabbing or line breaking. I've included Icons of Chaos to help them with combat res to keep them safe from Demonic Instability. Cultists are for objective grabbing.

Pure Slaanesh Daemons is actually one version of Chaos Daemons that works.

Not devastatingly, but effectively.

The Masque is nice, but it's Heralds of Slaanesh that are really lethal. Because Daemon of Slaanesh confers rending to the model, this stacks on top of a herald's S4 basic stat and the +1S for a Greater Aetherblade, which means Heralds and Alluress can take hull points even off tougher armoured vehicles - and will go through anything with a toughness score like a buzz-saw.

Daemonettes aren't bad but Seekers are better. Put Seekers on the table (in cover) and dart forwards - they're so !!!!! fast you'll practically be on top of the enemy by turn 2. More importantly, they're not as fragile as their stats suggest - the Grimoire of True Names makes them tough and every herald (except, annoyingly, the Masque) can be a level 2 telepath, giving you stealth/shrouded and or invisibility to throw around.

Turn 2 onwards, the slower daemonettes (a relative term - they're still fleet and daemon of slaanesh!) can deep strike in onto icons in the seeker units.

Meanwhile, chariots and the keeper of secrets are good "look at me!" units to distract the enemy with. A Keeper of Secrets is the cheapest greater daemon and is still damn lethal, especially with telepathy and a few gifts.

Also, princes with Lash weapons are one of the few options a daemons army has for actual 'dogfighters'.
