Hi all, long time reader first time poster on dakka dakka !
Just wanted some clarification about something really important to me.
I wandered on 1d4 chan's page about chaos space marines and one the contributors said the following thing about the possible optimized uses of the dimensional key :
"Take Ahriman/Huron as warlord, then infiltrate a winged DP or Chaos Lord with jump-pack/bike/steed and Raptors/Bikers/Spawns escort. "
I am thinking about doing some super mobile warp spider-like thousand sons army using gates of infinity and stuff like that. Having an infiltrating winged DP activate the key early would be amazing, as it gives so much value to warp talons
and the like.
Can a monstrous creature do this tho ? I doubt it, but the fact that this contributor has not been corrected is really bugging me.
Also can you guys tell me if the dimensional key is considered a weapon ? Stacking it with a MURDER sword seems fun. I'm a lot into point sinking because I find it gives a very epic feeling to some units so don't judge me if I dream about a MURDER sword
+ dimensional key chaos sorcerer infiltrating with winged possessed marines MURDERING backlines and hunting a CORPSE at lightning speed with infinity gates, while popping some vortexes of doom (and dying before doing any of
the aftermentionned things).
I apologize in advance for my bad English and over enthousiasm.

- You cannot Infiltrate a Daemon Prince using the Master of Deception Warlord Trait - it is a Monstrous Creature unit, not an Infantry unit. A Lord with jump pack (but not bike) works as it is Jump Infantry. Likewise Spawn are not allowed, as they are Beasts, not Infantry.
- It is possible using the Master of Ambush Warlord Trait from the Strategic Traits table in the rulebook, as it works on "non-vehicle" units, but you'd have to roll for that randomly.
- A Dimensional Key is not a weapon. It doesn't replace a weapon, and doesn't have a weapon profile, so it's just an effect that is applied after the bearer kills someone.

Why thank you very much for your fast awnser !
I'll see if i can rectify the page as I'm sure many people enjoy the read and might get disturbed by the infiltrating DP statement.
Thanks for the dimensional key heads up too.

Oh, and another point - units can't charge in their first turn if they Infiltrate, so it'd be at least the assault phase of turn two before you can activate the Key, meaning you'd need to fail the first reserve rolls in order to make use of it.
And because I missed it in my first post, welcome to Dakka!

Oh don't worry, I thought this out. If I win the roll I would concede the first turn to my opponent, so I go second in terms of player turn wich means I can actually assault instantly.
If he wins well... most people want to play first anyways. And if my bad luck strikes and he decides to go second, then maybe karma will let me fail my reserve rolls.
Also if the sorcerer has murder sword and I target something close enough I might mind game him into going first, as he'll want to get his targeted unit as far away as possible. When really my only goal is to kill soemthing in close combat at turn one, so i'll just pick another target no problem and catch up with infinity gates later in the game.
JUST AS PLANNED.
Thanks for your warm welcome ! Have a great evening.

Nope. Re-read Infiltrate. It specifically denies charging turn 1. It either says the unit cannot charge in its first turn or it cannot charge the first game turn. Forget which.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
