Yep. It's beginning. The first of the Anphelion Project runaways. The Red Scorpion Terminators are too cool to pass up, and I'm doing at least three squads up. Once again, works in progress. Fun yes? You all will have to wait to see the finished products, along with Commander Culln.

Aye. I realized after finally getting a magnifier and looking at the book again that the armor is darker. I'm repainting it black, kind of a...reverse drybrush.

could somebody please tell me why Red Scorpions are Grey?

Honestly, I really don't know. I'm going by the color scheme in the Anphelion Project book, and this scheme is their 'chapter approved' codex scheme. I kid you not, that's the exact wording used.

you could paint them red and mark the grey red scopions as traitors

I'm going by the book, as I've stated. It's easy enough to always claim it's another chapter with scorpion iconography if I want.

The Red Scorpions are Grey because they're using the Pre-Heresey, Rouge Trader era schemes.

Red Scorpions don't have a pre-Heresy scheme... they were never a Legion. The original schemes were from the Badab War, with their standard scheme being balck and yellow and their very cool camo scheme being black and red. Some of my old RT marines had the cool camo scheme.

Really? I thought they were one of the early ones in the fluff.

Well.... they are early in fluff terms. The Badab War was in White Dwarf 101 from 1988, which is Rogue Trader-era.

They're called the Red Scorpions because their emblem is a red scorpion, kind of the Crimson Fists not actually being Crimson - just a crimosn fist for an emblem.

Commander Culln arrived yesterday, and he's already being primed. I may try to get these all painted for a painting contest due by Friday at 8pm EST...

Let's see if I can pull it off!
