Hi im new to the forum and am having a problem when painting my models, I am finding no matter what whether its new brush or old, large or small i cant make them keep a point they all form into 2 different points after like 2 strokes while painting any recommendations as to decent brushes to get that may not do this? thus far i have only used citadel ones but i do try to keep them in good conditions like never letting them stand tip down in water pot and i keep them all with there covers on and am very careful not to catch bristles when i put the cover on as well. Any help and advice would be sorely apreciated.

When done using them, wash them out with shampoo and then work some conditioner into the bristles and work to a point, leaving the conditioner in the bristles while not in use. When you are ready to use them again, simply rinse and go. This will certainly help with longevity and keeping a point as splitting like that is commonly a symptom of dried out bristles.

Also, welcome to dakkadakka, I hope you enjoy your stay.

what commisarbob says! Brush cleaner is amazing stuff https://www.michaels.com/the-masters-brush-cleaner-preserver-2.5oz/10081800.htmllike this - you can get it many places not just Michael's (if one's not near you for instance) It helps clean and condition, you use it like soap basically a little goes a long way especially with our tiny brushes.

You say you're using GW brushes? so you've rounded ones yes? Just because the regular art store ones, even when they're the right size aren't always rounds and tend to split more in my experience.

Also, you can do a little twist in the paint, before you pull the brush out and it'll help make a point.

Anyway hope that helps some!
