Hi all,

I like the look of the ravenwing support squadron for my imperal navy counts as army. I am curious how you would equip the squadron.

My inclination is as follows:

5 Speeders - typhoon launchers, heavy flamer

Darkshroud

The idea here, is that I've got a 4+ rerollable cover save with 10 BS 5 krak missile interceptor shots and some decent overwatch ability. It also lets me shuffle 12' every turn and kick out some good firepower. Downside is it's a lot of points in the event I have to jink, but with the amazing which is the darkshroud, that shouldn't happen too often, especially with the aforementioned 12' movement.

The other option is to go 5 double MM for some suicide action, but I'm not a huge fan of this plan as it's worse intercepting and requires close range to do its thing.

As an aside, how durable do you think this squad would be? How prevalent is ignores cover?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I have been running mine with MM and ML. It is spendy on points, but they pack a heavy punch. I would like to try all HB, which would be lots-o-dakka, but I would need to do some magnetizing first.

I will use them to punch light armor from a distance at first. If there is any heavy armor, they are next with the MM action.

I've always liked assault cannons and multi-meltas. Although if you want to protect some of your ravenwing taking some heavy flamers will protect them well.
