This is a list I've finally assembled and painted. want some reassurance that all is sound.
Greater Brass Scorpion
Helldrake- baleflamer
3* Blood Slaughterer - impaler
1* Maulerfiend magma cutters
2* Maulerfiend lasher tendrils
Soul Grinder- Phlegm bombardment.
One thing I've just noticed is that the FW units don't get the BFTBG rule so won't be generated blood points. This is annoying, as I do want a second wave of daemons to come in for objectives etc.
One option would be to swap two blood slaughterers out for Maulers, one with lashers.
Also who to have as warlord?
The scorpion is toughest, but will probably die. I'm thinking the grinder who is more likely to hang back.
Overall thoughts?

Despite one less front AV I would take maulerfiends over blood slaughterers, being unable to control who my units run towards could really be a killjoy in games and be widely exploited. Plus they're not as fast.

You're not wrong, although the ws5 I4 is a big draw, for slapping knights.
I guess I'll go with 5 maulers. Should be enough to scare anyone. One slaughterer in DS reserve as an ace in the hole.

It's a tough choice for who to make Warlord. If you make the grinder warlord then people will target it since it will be a much easier warlord kill, and it obviously dies much faster than the Scorpion.
But on the other hand, by making the grinder the warlord it may take some of the firepower off the scorpion since again people may try to target the grinder for an easy warlord kill.
So I think go with the grinder and try to give him good cover of they have a lot of long range antitank.

The problem with Blood Slaughterers is that they're still not striking before knights, and if taking on knights tag-teaming them with maulerfiends can do the job quite nicely; a knight can't split its attacks, and a Maulerfiend with extra attacks from Rage and Swift And Bloody Vengeance can still take a nasty bite out of a knight.
The other reason to take maulerfiends en mass is to ensure that the rear arc of the scorpion is a death zone. With only AV10 on its rear, you need some heavy metal to get in the way to avoid losing hull points to small-arms fire.
