Hello everybody!
So i have finally decided on an army list that fits what i wanted to do and i think fits my play style. It may or may not be a competitive list, but i was going for something that was fun and a bit fluffy and that i could create a story for.
So i names them the Iron Disciples because they are Iron Hands successors, specifically they seem to be an Iron Lords offshoot, with the same color scheme except the Iron Lords red legs are being replaced with a blue cobalt metallic color. The Disciple part currently goes along with the naming convention i went with, all of my squads captains are named after early christian church fathers.
The lore surrounding the chapter is that they were founded following the fight amongst the Ghoul Stars against the Barghesi and Hive Fleet Kraken. They are fleet based and recruit from planets all across the galaxy. They usually choose planets that have staved off incursions from psychic entities or psykers as the chapter has a bone deep hatred for the warp-touched. The founding Chapter Master and Forge Father Stephen Lapidis (Stephen being the first martyr in christianity, Lapidis being Stone in Latin as he was stoned to death). Stephen was killed during an incursion with the Eldar where he was destroyed by a farseer and a Warlock Conclave casting psychic maelstrom on his simultaneously. The chapter proceeded to kill every Eldar there mercilessly and tearing their heads from their body, keeping the helms as trophies to this day (I am modeling sergeants, characters, etc with Eldar helms as decoration).
Despite the normal revulsion that follows pariahs, the Iron Disciples have befriended the Culexus temple and are known to work alongside them, setting aside the feeling of revulsion for the cause of annihilating psykers. The chapter does not cyberneticaly enhance itself as much as its gene fathers, but sternguard veterans are often given bionic upgrades to give them further running speed and shooting stability (Wont change rules just lore, all of my sternguard have cybernetic leg enhancements.) Their vehicle's have powerful machine spirits that, in their greater warmachines, can border on the heresy of artificial intelligence. Other astartes chapters that have fought alongside the chapter's Typhon Heavy Siege Tank, the Incipiens Veritatus (Beginning of Truth in Latin, Haven't added to my 1850 list) have said it seems to have a mind of its own. Now that i've tried to and quite possibly failed to write interesting fluff, here is my list:
