So my goal was to build a partially competitive mostly unmarked CSM army in the theme of the Red Corsairs. Im short around 50pts so if you guys have suggestions for me to optimize it please let me know.

HQ:
Huron Blackheart

Troops:

3x 10 Man CSM with flamer, heavy bolter. Champion with Power Maul

8 possessed w/ Icon of Wrath, Mark of Khorne (where Huron goes)

Fast Attack:
Heldrake w/ Baleflamer

2x Raptors w/ 2 melta guns. Chapmion with combi-melta

Heavy Support:

Land Raider w/ Dirge Caster, Dozer Blade

2x Maulerfiends

Please let me know what you think its lacking.

so before a certain person called fllch blows up on you because i would too he'll tell you that csm is garbage, now that is true but i am a little bit more optimistic so ill try to help you here. oh there is no such thing as semi competitive or partial competitive there is only competitive or no competitive ok? so here we go

huron- good
3x10 man csm with heavy bolter? power maul? jesus ok so here is what is going to happen there are two choices to even scratch someone with this. ditch the flamers put on meltas, ditch the power maul get melta bombs and a combi melta ditch the heavy bolter and put on a melta then put them in rhinos or abuse the fact that you have infiltrate and get 20 marines with mon 2 flamers and icon of vengence. 8 possessed hahahahahahahaha...no you are better off trying to throw your models at your opponent and hope that he gets impaled by them, cause thats going no where, if you want possessed then get them from the crimson slaughterers, but try to ignore that please they are too expensive. ditch the raptors cause they are weak and too expensive, red corsairs are known for their raiding capabilities and so you give them bikers with 2 melta melta bombs thats much better take 2 heldrakes. then ditch the landraider, the best combo with landraider in chaos is termies and berzerkers or slaanesh marines or chosen with power weapons. maulerfiends are good but i dont like them too much i think they are underwhelming, take oblits instead for tank busting, they get all of the good weapons, powerfists and 2 wounds with a 2+ 5++ they are sooo good. this list is lacking so much, i only managed to scrape the surface if you could tell me what models you have then please do so and i could help you make a fluffy and competitive list

So if I get rid of the possessed and the land raider, where do I stuck Huron?

I should have mentioned that I am using the Crimson Slaughter supplement.

Trying to avoid mon as everyone has it, was hopping to see how good an unmarked csm list would do.

I mostly play against orks and imperial guard.

Edit: Should mention that I've played chaos on and off for about two years now.

I suggest you get a squad of 20 csm you marked like I said above, then get some chosen and give them power weapons and let them have a landraider or take another blob of space marines and put him in it. Fast attack should only be heldrakes cause unmarked bikers are not that good. Obliterators and vindicator are really good. For a fluffy list I would suggest 10 marines melta melta combi melta and melta bombs in a rhino and just do it like that have like 5 rhinos and 5 squads then have some obits and some chosen with huron and there you go
