Hi guys

Me and a couple of friends are looking to start playing Lotr/Hobbit SBG after having watched Ash from GMW play on youtube. The game looks like a lot of fun and its small; making it a bit cheaper than most other GW games.

Im looking to start a dwarf army but it has been brough to my attention that in order to calculate points and stats, we will need a "Free peoples" Book which is no longer in print.

My question is: How can new players get acsess to points costs/stats for Durins Folk? Elves too if they are in there. Ive tried looking for PDF's or Ebay listing and nobody seems to have any of this :\

I've found that Abe Books or Amazon are generally better than eBay for out of print books, these days.

I didn't think to try Abe books, ill keep and eye of them for sure!

Phone gw stores you'd be willing to travel to and ask if they still have the store copy, tell them how much you want it and offer to pay for it. You might be able to get a copy that way.

Just for the record, 'out of print' does not mean 'out of copyright'.

Didn't GW post free pdf's of the army books a while back? I remember downloading them on my phone. I prefer a printed rulebook, but the free pdf's will get you started for cheap.

They had a PDF for The Battle of Five Armies (which is no longer available - see insaniak's post above) which really wasn't usable to make an army by itself (tons of heroes, but only a handful of warriors).

November, PM me your email address and I can get you set up with a copy of the book for Free Peoples, and any other books you need.

Currently they only have a free PDF for The Battle of Five armies but it isn't very extensive, nor does it have anything for the LoTR miniatures :\

There are a couple copies on ebay for cheap right now.
