I was going to say perhaps if he was rumoured to be/was involved with domestic violence that may be why, as recently there has been a lot of noise and funding increase, I think Chris Brown had a visa denied (not 100% sure on that), etc on that topic, so the hospital may just be trying to buddy up with their local member for some of the funding or something.
However I can't see that mentioned in the article, so either CNN didn't mention it or I'm back to not sure why he was told not to come beyond the reasons given in the article which seem pretty weak. Since (again according to the article) it's not illegal in a ring, just in the cage thing? If I read that right?

Yes, Chris Brown was denied a visa to Australia for reasons evident to everyone who knows who Chris Brown is; thus dashing the hopes that he would have a fatal run-in with (insert wildly dangerous Australian creature here).

Was he ever charged with it? I don't know what privacy laws are like down there so I don't know if the hospital can say "he can't come because of domestic violence" if he has never been charged with it (or something along that line). So maybe they were vague on why he can't visit because of something like that?

As I said I have no idea if he was and I'd be surprised if he is. I've had a similar experience to Relapse. It was just the only thing that I could think of other than "hurr durr mma scary" that I could think of

Fair enough. Is Australia really this "weird" on the whole UFC thing?

Not that I've noticed, but I don't find it that entertaining so I don't really follow any news about it.

I had some Tongan neighbors whose kids were always at our house or my kids were at theirs. Their dad and I work together and the kids began running down the street yelling, "Uncle", to me when they saw me coming.
His middle son is a crack up and wants to take Karate from my wife.

Holy crap, you could get into orbit making leaps like that. This like hearing some guy didn't get into a party and going "Oh well, maybe it was rumored he like cats on fire. You know some people like to set cats on fire and you wouldn't want them at a party burning cats.".

Chill Chongara, I was saying one of the things that is very prevalent in the national discussion here at the moment that could be relevant, on the assumption that you guys aren't all that tuned in for our active topics here. There's also refugees and the trade agreements, but since neither of those are all that likely to impact on a hospital's decision, I brought up the one thing that might.
I clarified that there was no indication this was the case here, and in a later post further clarified that I didn't think that.
So, down boy.

No, Australia has a pretty big mma scene and the UFC is about to most likely break attendance records with Ronda Rouseys next fight, UFC 193 on Nov. 14 in Etihad Stadium, Melbourne Australia.
Just seems like grandstanding on the Hospitals part.

Pretty piss poor public relations if that's the case, and to tell the truth, I'm surprised they aren't getting dogpiled down there for that attitude.
From the link:
"Following the significant media coverage of controversy surrounding UFC and 'cage' fighting, which is currently banned in Western Australia, a decision was made by the Princess Margaret Hospital Executive that it would not be appropriate to have a representative of the sport visit the hospital," a spokesperson from the health service said.
"Princess Margaret Hospital has a duty of care to its patients, their families and staff. With many people in the community having very strong views about this particular sport, due to its perceived level of violence, executive staff felt this was the best decision at the time."
The hospital appears to have taken it upon itself to speak for the community.

I think denying Chris Brown a visa, for being such a POS, is wonderful.

He still intends to give them the money anyway, which is awesome on his part. The fact that he is not only giving them a large sum of money AND he is a Make-a-Wish ambassador will look very bad for the hospital in the future.
