I don't play sm or tau I'm just curious-pathfinders, stern guards and vanguards-are they new or old kits?

The Sternguard & Vanguard are existing kits re-packaged with 32mm bases. Not sure about the Pathfinder Team.

The Marine kits are to switch over to 32mm bases, the Tau is probably just to give them box art consistent with the other Tau releases.
