I know the maps are limited but it's still a fast paced high intensity game I just don't get it

For one thing, people are slowly moving onto the next gen consoles and games. Furthermore, from what I remember the game didn't sell badly but not extremely well either. Once you factor in the age of the game and the inevitable decrease in gamer population on its servers once fairweather fans move onto the next games, it leaves only a small community left, similar to DoW2 (which has more longevity in comparison since there's mods made for it).

I liked the game, not played in a while. I wouldn't mind jumping back in again, some time soon!

I'd love to put together a couple games of Horde mode with some other Dakkanauts. Anyone else who owns the game on steam and wants to play send me a PM

It was very fun and immersive, though I really felt weapons did too much damage (or player characters had too little health, same thing in the end), which encouraged quickscoping oneshots, cornercamping, meltarunning etc. Grenades were also pretty wtf, especially prenerf.

Those concepts shouldn't exist in MEQ battles in my opinion. That's the realm of Call of Duty, not the battles of Marines.

Unfortunately it looks like Eternal Crusade has an even greater problem with this.

It's not only because it'd feel fluffier if you were tougher, it also prevents 'I shot first so I win lolololol' and makes it more skill-based, which is far more satisfying in my opinion.

Yea, saw a gameplay of alpha eternal crusade, and the reviewer was just raving about how good the game was. Meanwhile, on the screen, two marines were duking it out, firing their bolters and circling each other at point blank range. Really not how I imagined 40k combat to be like. The movements were also awkward, just like Space Marine. When I first heard of Space Marine, I was kind of hoping it would be more like the DoW trailer, but it kinda turned out like a TF2/Halo hybrid.

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.

I think Space Marine captured the feel very well. It just needed some number tweaks, a meltagun redesign, etc.

It's a shame I don't know how to mod it.
