Picked up the Khorne half of the starter set from my FLGS a couple weeks ago. Ordered the KBB battletome and an Exalted Deathbringer with Impaling Spear scheduled for delivery on Friday. Have the Gorechosen game set to notify when it is back in stock. Purchased Silver Tower for 20% discount at a con this weekend.
The thought occurs: At some point, I actually need to paint this stuff.
P.S. What's that? A Start Collecting: Khorne Bloodbound kit? GW seems to be offended at the very idea of my having money!
MongooseMatt wrote: Anyone take advantage of the Bank Holiday weekend? I did
I have a week's vacation (or "holiday" as you Brits insist on calling it. Weirdos) coming up. I hope to use it to make a dent in the grey mountain. Hope to have my Bloodbound posted to this thread soon.

I've always wanted to remove the weapons from that model and put an electric guitar in his hands. Dude's pose is just perfect for it!
So I finally managed to get some pictures of my Slaves to Darkness army taken at my FLGS on Friday:
A couple Gorebeast Chariots
Some Chaos Knights being goaded to battle by a Daemon Prince
A better angle on the prince
Two sorcerers on the battlements of a Numinous Occulum and a Manticore Sorceror Lord in front
I also painted the Occulum. Unfortunately, the kit had warped and didn't quite fit together right, but it still looks okay. I also did the Dragonfate Dais in the background. I'll get some better pics of it when I photograph my Bloodbound (hopefully) next week.
Spoiler:
Oh yeah. I also painted this guy:

The Ophidian Archway is another of my scenery pieces.
The pic I took of my Chaos Warriors, Chaos Shrine, and the Chaos Lord on Manticore didn't turn out so well, so I'll have to retake that one. I'll try do get a full army shot for that one.

Thank you, sir. And yes. Took me two weeks and had to break down and buy an Artificer brush, but I got him done. I actually have all 3 Archon models, and I plan to post a group pic of all three once I get the version on horseback painted.
So after playing a couple games of Silver Tower, my friends decide they like it. I told them to look through the hero cards and see if they found a hero they liked. If so I would buy it and paint it for them. One friend has really been looking at getting into Orruks, so he decided on the Savage Orruk Warboss. Finally got it painted today.
I was nervous about doing the blue warpaint since I've never really free handed anything like that before, but it turned out great! Can't wait to give him to my friend next game night!

Spoiler:
All that's left is snow on the base, which I'll do after the thundertusk and stonehorn.
I've been working on my Vampire Counts-gone-Tomb-Kings army some more, in an attempt to get everything ready for the tournament next Saturday. So far, I've finished up 5 more Skeleton Warriors (with some help from the girlfriend), and built the 10 other Skeleton Warriors I needed to fill out the unit. Forgot to take pictures of the undead buggers, though
Also, I've been playing around with the contents of the Thunder & Blood starter box that recently came into my possession, trying figure out what I want to do with the lot. I've decided to use the Chaos half to bulk out my Hosts of Slaanesh army, and to create a small warband for AOS Skirmish. The Skirmish warband will consist of a couple of Chaos Warriors and some Marauders, all converted to fit the warband's fluff (which I'm still working out).
Here's a pic of one of the first members of the warband, a converted Chaos Warrior:
The inspiration for this conversion came from the lovely fellows at Wargamers' Workbench, who have created some awesome Nurgle Chaos Warriors out of the Blood Warriors. However, they did commit foul heresy by not including the Warriors' fancy capes (I don't blame them, though; attaching the cape to the body was a bloody nightmare), but I'm sure Nurgle will be able to forgive them for that
But theses boxes are a bit old. They come with square bases and not the new round ones. Should i try to aquire round bases or should i just keep the square ones? What do you think. Will it cause truble?
Unless your gaming group has a restriction on square bases, that's really more of a personal preference. I don't care for square/rectangles, so I always go out of my way to rebase on rounds, but that's just me. Plus I somehow ended up with around 100 spare 25mm-40mm bases at one point, so I have plenty to use.
I won't be surprised if measuring to the base becomes the official rule rather than a "suggested house rule". If that happens, rounds will be the standard. As long as you have access to them, that's the way I would go.
Awesome job there, MM. The Dragon Ogres have always been one of the most unique things about GW's fantasy game. I'm surprised they never bothered fleshing out that model line a little more.

The cape might need a rework if it looks blood soaked...it's meant to be a purple that's faded over time.
If you're looking for faded purple, I would suggest a gradient into a pale pink (something like Fulgrim Pink) and fading into a fleshy color like Kislev Flesh.
Washes have a tendency to do weird things with pink. When shading purple and pink, I tend to use good ol' Agrax Earthshade. There results are surprisingly good.
Been working on my Tzeentch Arcanites list. Using a cult of my own design, a splinter cult of the Pyrofane Cult from Hysh called the Cult of Searing Light. I finished me first two leaders yesterday!

I have a SC: Goreblade Warband box, a Bloodthrone, and I'm splitting the Wrath and Rapture box with a friend. I'll definitely post on here, and may have to dust off my ancient P&M thread for this as well.
I hope you enjoy painting things red. Pro tip: red paints stain brushes really badly. Make sure you clean your brushes really well (and rinse them often).
