The reading of it is a bit odd for me. It says
Roll a dice each time a Tomb Scorpion suffers a wound or a mortal wound caused by a spell.
. Does this mean it rolls a dice for each wound caused by a spell and mortal wound caused by a spell or for any wounds caused as well as mortal wounds caused by a spell?

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

RAW could be either, but I'd put money in RAI being only wounds caused by spells.
If the intent was *all* wounds and spell-based mortal wounds, I think the wording would actually be clearer to explain the difference.

One day, game companies will hire (or at least contract) technical writers to at least review the rules before they go to the publisher. What one person believes to be completely clear is often less so to someone else. Technical writers are trained to make things painfully clear.

My vote goes to only wounds/mortal wounds caused by spells as how I see it stated.

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Are there any spells that cause non-mortal wounds?

Yes, a few so far. Can't remember which one right now, but I know there is a warscroll that lists its spell the same way other scrolls list their missile weapon. At work right now so can't dig it up.

EDIT: Found it, was thinking about Malagor from the Beastmen list.

What's left of Cadia

I would interpret it as a wound/mortal wound caused by a spell

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
